Out of curiosity really. Do you stick to the same colour way, or do you mix and match?

I have all cerise plus the rainbow sets and then stainless pans and bakeware - collected over a few years

zingally · 16/09/2024 12:14

I only have one piece, a small casserole dish in a dark teal shade. Honestly, I've had in about 10 years and maybe used it twice.

hattie43 · 16/09/2024 12:29

I mix n match 2 colours , orange / volcanic and deep teal .

SabrinaThwaite · 16/09/2024 12:32

@zingally Sounds like you don't really need it ... do you fancy passing it on?

littleoldme3 · 16/09/2024 16:21

All Volcanic here 😊 lots of sizes in square & rectangle stoneware baking dishes, round ones like tapas dishes, dinner plates, mugs, salt & pepper mills & utensil holder.

I have the biggest size of round cast iron 🙈 no idea of the official size but it barely fits in my standard sized oven 😂 Passed the Le Creuset section in House of Frasers about 8 years ago and there she was sitting all alone - on sale for £140 so I hummed and hawed then decided to take it even though it was far too big for us 🙈 Then the sales assistant came back and told me that unfortunately there was no box - but if I was happy to take it still they could do it for half price 😂🙌🏻. So I paid £70 and went home very happy with my very impractical giant pot 😂😂

One blue pie dish. Bought for 2 quid at a car boot.

Oldraver · 16/09/2024 16:45

Turquoise/teal. Casserole dishes are Pro cook

I started writing and it was easier to take a photo

I'm on my third orange oval casserole dish.
First one I lost to my ex when we split up, second one chipped inside after 15 years and was replaced free of charge by LeCruset, even though I didn't have a receipt.
Also have a dark blue butter dish which matches my Denby cookware.

Oldraver · 16/09/2024 16:47

I also have two silicon mats that are brill as they go on the hob while its still hot -to protect kitty paws

Oldraver · 16/09/2024 16:57

These are OH's oven pans, and yes he really does store them with cloth between each one

The same as the frying pans which are shit

I got an oval cast iron casserole as a wedding present over 20 years ago. It's in a discontinued colour called Granite (but I wish I'd chosen Volcanic). Its brilliant and used for chilli & Bolognese regularly. I have a Staub wide, shallow cast iron pan that I use for risotto, paella, and one pan traybakes - I couldn't justify the cost of a Le Creuset but the Staub is just as good.

Caroparo52 · 16/09/2024 17:17

Ancient racing green casserole. Old cream huge casserole. Newish turquoise wide flat casserole. New turquoise salt and pepper which don't match each other despite my best efforts.
Just love the product. Colour irrelevent.

BotterMon · 16/09/2024 17:18

I got the full saucepan set in orange as a wedding present and they're still in daily use 35 years on. All other LC vessels are in the same orange.
I think if I were to choose another colour today it would be the teal as matches my current colour scheme.

WolfFoxHare · 16/09/2024 17:21

Our casserole, roasting pan, serving dishes, utensil jars and tea/sugar jars are all different different shades of blue and green. Plates and cups are all the colours of the rainbow.

I have one Orange casserole bought circa 1988 in the John Lewis sale for £30. I have been astounded by the cost of an equivalent now 😳

I do find it heavy to use but, in spite of that, it’s used every week.

I first bought some in Gibraltar in 1975, a couple of pans and a frying pan, I then acquired a few ceramic serving dishes in dark green and a wok in grey, absolutely enormous. The large pan and the frying pan both were broken by my late OH, don't know how he managed it!

All of mine have a cloth inbetween them too 😂

And I still have the cardboard inserts that came in the box which I also still use.

Lorrymum · 16/09/2024 17:26

I love the look of them but they are just so heavy. First fell in love with them in the 80's but realised they weren't for me when I couldn't lift one in John Lewis.

Luckingfovely · 16/09/2024 17:26

Mostly Volcanic ovenware, with one dark blue casserole and red salt & pepper pots. Love them all!

AdoraBell · 16/09/2024 17:30

I have a few different colours, but the items not in cupboards are the same, except for the biscuit barrel that I use for granola.

Volcanic orange casserole pots bought over 25 years ago
Teal shallow casserole pot
Ultra Violet tea/coffee/sugar caddies, butter dish and cappuccino cups.
Cerise biscuit barrel.
Black small frying pan.

AdoraBell · 16/09/2024 17:34

For about the cafeteria 🤦‍♀️ that’s also ultra violet.

AdoraBell · 16/09/2024 17:38

@BloodyWolves I had a set of stoneware pots from a different brand crack, apparently it happens if the exposed based is left wet either after washing or in soak.

Never had any problems with Le Creuset, but I always make sure the bases of the stoneware are dried properly.

StiggyZardust · 16/09/2024 17:45

I have 4 red casseroles in different sizes. I inherited a couple of orange ones from my parents. I also have a blue griddle pan.
Some of them are about 30 years old.
I went to a Le Crueset sale recently and bought a huge black casserole as a wedding present for a friend. Half price!

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 16/09/2024 17:46

I have cast iron casserole dishes in three sizes small oval, medium oval, and large round - 2 volcanic orange and one white. They are heavy so I probably wouldn't go for frying pans etc, but as casseroles, they're brilliant. And I always do things like stews or bolognaise in them as they definitely somehow taste better. All were wedding gifts. We got some other similar pots/dishes for our wedding and I sent them all to the charity shop a few years ago - the three le Creuset ones are better, and meet all my needs.

I would like the sort of shallow casserole/pan things - for cooking things like chops on the stove and transferring to the oven.

I will be looking out for a butter dish - I've been wanting to swap to a prpoer butter dish rather than using lurpak but suspect DH would have stresses about melting etc. Somehow, in a sturdy le creuseut stoneware version I think I can convince him.

The white medium oval one has a small crack. Still works perfectly, but perhaps based on this thread, I should ask them about replacing it. I do worry one day the crack will just go through completely on a random day and break everywhere.

3catsandcounting · 16/09/2024 17:55

I have set of saucepans and an oval lidded casserole from my wedding nearly 30 years ago. Still in daily use but the enamel has faded and gone a bit matt over the years, and surface scratched too.
They're all in a (discontinued??) mustard-yellow, which I'm not keen on now.
Does anyone know if they can be re-enamaled - I'd love them to match my newer Meringue casseroles.
