Out of curiosity really. Do you stick to the same colour way, or do you mix and match?

The majority is orange - pots, pjs and baking trays.
a turquoise utensil holder and blue soup bowls!

TranquilityofSolitude · 16/09/2024 07:22

I bought a set for my DD and SonIL when they got married, and they chose lots of different colours - no 2 items the same. I was surprised, but it looks great.

upifpmpyesmyypfie · 16/09/2024 07:22

Mix and match.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 16/09/2024 07:24

Mix and match… but that’s because it’s all from charity shops.

Pumpkittenspice · 16/09/2024 07:24

I forgot to say, my chosen colour way is shell pink. I have the utensil holder and salt and pepper mills, so far. I’ll be ordering the matching butter dish on payday. We’ve been needing one for ages, but have been putting off purchasing one

I have a small teal casserole, a teal oven dish and an orange utensils holder. The casserole was a gift. I'm too poor to buy any more of their cast iron pans, as much as I'd like more.

BloodyWolves · 16/09/2024 07:29

I think I’m doing something wrong. I have the rainbow mugs and every single one of them chipped within three months. Massive shame because they both looked and more importantly felt, really sturdy!

I would love some tea and coffee canisters after I dropped my favourite Disturbia one and they never restocked it for me to buy again. I have come close to buying a casserole dish a few times but there’s quite a lot of reviews that talk of them cracking and based on my mug experience I don’t know.

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 16/09/2024 07:32

We’ve got a fairly large collection although stick to one colour and it’s not always easy to find. I’ve got my eye on a cafetière next.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/09/2024 07:32

Am I the only one that just finds them too bloody heavy? Still have the casserole but gave the other pans away.

Santasbigredbobblehat · 16/09/2024 07:34

I’ve got the orange casserole dish, blue butter dish, yellow pepper mill and teal salt cellar. And a blue salt pig. Somewhere I have pink and teal mini casserole dishes that I never use. Oh, and a blue serving dish. More than I thought!

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 16/09/2024 07:34

@BloodyWolves none of ours have cracked despite heavy use (touch wood as now the shelves will all fall down). Do you use a dishwasher?

FuzzyPuffling · 16/09/2024 07:36

One orange casserole dish, 45 years old.

MushroomBrioche · 16/09/2024 07:54

I have so much and it's all vintage. A lot is from charity shops and facebook marketplace. It's all mismatched and I absolutely love it. My favourite piece is the enormous jam pot I got from ebay - it's like a cauldron and is perfect for batch cooking as I can make around 20 portions in one go. This is a photo of the exact same one on ebay as I'm too lazy to go take a picture of mine.

@Dolliesdisasterousdayout I’m crossing my fingers that your shelves are still intact!

No dishwasher (unfortunately). The only thing I can think of is my mums heavy handed washing up on the times where she’s stayed over. Or a defective batch because it’s strange that it was all of them!

Didimum · 16/09/2024 08:07

My favourite is the volcanic (orange), but I have a few other pieces that were gifts so in different colours. I really like their new thyme colour and would like one of the shallow casseroles in that. I’d like a utensils pot too.

If people are cracking them then they are handling them incorrectly, which most likely means submerging them in or filling them with cold water before they have cooled. That’s just physics and will crack any vessel, regardless of brand or material.

Stirmish · 16/09/2024 08:12

Mine are all meringue colour or red

I have a meringue shallow casserole, 28 meringue round casserole and a 24 round casserole. I use all of these all the time.

I have a red butter dish, red salt and pepper pot and a red teapot

Oh and I forgot I have an orange oval stoneware oven dish which I always thought was cast iron too for some reason till a bit chipped off on the side and I realised it wasn't

Longtimelurkerfinallyposts · 16/09/2024 08:27

Mine are mostly orange but have a few yellow pans too. All second-hand - some gifted by my brother (whose gf found them online)

softmauve · 16/09/2024 08:28

A mix of teal, shell pink, purple and white. Love them all.

Artinsurance · 16/09/2024 08:32

I have one Orange casserole bought circa 1988 in the John Lewis sale for £30. I have been astounded by the cost of an equivalent now 😳

I do find it heavy to use but, in spite of that, it’s used every week.

TheFlis · 16/09/2024 08:32

I have quite a large collection and it’s all different shades of pinks and blues.

Cupooee · 16/09/2024 08:37

I recently gave a huge collection from 35 years ago to the charity shop. Many bits were unused wedding gifts.
I used a large market find caserole dish as a single girl and thought I'd use it when married but they sat in the press.
Friends did take the 4 large casserole dishes and love them.

SantiagoSky · 16/09/2024 08:40

I have three pots in different sizes: black, red, orange.

armadillio · 16/09/2024 08:43

I bought the largest pot in volcanic orange with some gift vouchers, it was like £280. Not sure why, I rarely use it, it’s so heavy.

Then I bought the largest lasagne dish (in volcanic orange again) from TK Maxx for £12.

And then I bought the butter dish in a very light yellow for £10 from TK Maxx.

I have been contemplating buying a smaller pot, but they’re like £200 new, and I’m not sure I’d use it.

Igmum · 16/09/2024 08:46

Plenty of pots and pans, all orange and rather battered. A couple of turquoise earthenware things that live in the cellar.

I didn't realise there was a second hand market - going to look out for stuff now 😃
