Wearing mascara on your lower lashes?

I’ve tried it but my eyes are too watery and it looks a mess. But I absolutely love the look.

Does anyone do this? I rarely see this look.

I only do top. It looks too heavy under on me (I’m quite pale)

I look a bit clockwork orange with my lower lashes done. It's also quite ageing I feel. They say you can deffo tell over 40s from their side partings and mascared lower lashes.

Oh my god! Is this true?! I'm 43 and I've always done my lower lashes. I feel like an ageing cliche now 😂

I’d love to see photo of the women wearing top and bottom. Just their eye - wouldn’t expect people to start posting their faces.

When I think of how I’d like my lower lashes to look, it’s like the photo, not dark and heavy like the top but still volume.

Please tell me which eyelash serum!

personally, if I put mascara on my bottom lashes, I just 'touch' them with the brush, no attempt at lengthening

I've never done the bottom - like a previous poster, it was due to something like Cosmo/just 17 in the 90s saying not to and so I never have!
Then I watched a YouTube thing the other day saying not doing your bottom lashes is as ageing. I've decided not to care and just do what I want!

I don’t know if I’m weird for doing this, but I trim my lower eyelashes with nail scissors every few days (being careful not to stab myself in the eye) - that way I can put mascara on my bottom lashes and not get the spiders legs effect.

Aren’t lash growing serums quite dangerous?

It’s a very 80/90s thing so no.

I did as a teen but stopped a few years ago, I have really big eyes that I’m quite self conscious about so don’t like to make them look any bigger than they are and I think bottom lashes make them look bigger.

My bottom ones are quite long and it looks a bit Clockwork Orange if I do those. Plus it’s more likely to smudge , especially if I get too warm, so I tend not to do it anymore. I only wear mascara about once a month anyway, if that, but only on the top ones now.

I see someone else has made a Clockwork Orange comparison 😂 I’ve not seen the film, to be fair, but have seen the famous poster image.

I’ve got sparse but very long lower lashes, so mascara looks bloody ridiculous on them.

No, top only. I'm 62 and don't want to look like Barbara Cartland.

Top only. Bottom is very old fashioned.

I put eye liner only on the top, as find it looks too severe on the bottom as well, haven't done this since a teen. I put mascara on the top lashes, then only a tiny bit on the bottom, so that it literally just colours them slightly; this way it looks a bit more natural. I haven't slathered it on since I was younger, and it was the whole eye lash curler thing as well!

Yes love that. I want to start doing my eyeliner like you do too. Think it gives the appearance of even fuller lashes.

No I don’t think it’s old fashioned. It’s all about execution, facial features, products used.

I have about 3 hairs on my lower lashes. Not a good look to coat them in mascara.

Same. Love the look but it just doesn't work on me.
