An additional job

ComtesseDeSpair · 11/09/2024 10:39

What do you do for work currently? Can you turn that into something freelance on the side in addition?

PetrichorSoul · 11/09/2024 10:40

Pick up some shifts in the supermarket or local petrol station?

Edited for autocorrect’s filthy mouth.

Second job

Or side hustle, but don't expect to make loads consistently and they do take lots of your time up:
Survery sites
Product testing
Matched betting and online gaming
Gaming for cash like Mistplay

pinkdelight · 11/09/2024 10:42

But to the OP's point - babysitting? If you did it every weekend you could make a couple of hundred or so.

Purplebunnie · 11/09/2024 10:43

Does dog walking pay?

conniefromaccounts · 11/09/2024 11:12

I work in a pub a few hours a week, brings in just over £200.

YOOHOOITSMEEE · 11/09/2024 20:51

im serious here
feet finder

i make hundreds for just a few photos a month
i am different to most women though
ive size 12-13 adult feet
been doing it years

all legal and its not seedy

BillyNoMates9 · 11/09/2024 20:54

Best thing is a second job. Tesco delivery driver or similar, there are shifts to fit whenever you're currently not working.

People can claim easy money from odd places, but paid employment is usually best and most reliable!

cartagenagina · 11/09/2024 21:04

I had four jobs at one point after DH left and I had to keep a roof over the kids heads.

So yeah, additional job, wfh if childcare is an issue.

Have you cut your outgoings back as much as you can?

RishiIsACuntWaffle · 11/09/2024 21:04

Takeaway deliveries

Sjbythesea · 11/09/2024 21:09

I used to have a domestic cleaning round charging £15 an hour, average clean was two hours. Customers told their friends and I built a decent round locally. I cleaned the houses to fit in with school drop offs and pick ups. The customers were lovely and my earnings were decent.

You’re a woman with size 13 feet?! Where on earth do you find shoes! I’m a size 9 and it’s flipping hard work!

Spartak · 11/09/2024 21:21

Have you got space for a lodger? I get £500 a month renting put a room than I only used very occasionally.

Do less common foot sizes command a higher price? Is is only larger women's feet, or are tiny ones also in demand? I know a woman who wears either size 12 or 13. I don't think she'd want to do this (though who can tell, really), but she'd probably find it interesting to know!

Are you a basketball player over 7.5' tall? 😯

RogueFemale · 11/09/2024 21:37

I asked a similar question a while back, on behalf of a 60yo friend, and the best answer was dog walking.

How does it work?

somereallyniceadvice · 11/09/2024 21:39

hotel housekeeping jobs. They always employ and the shifts are very flexible

Divebar2021 · 11/09/2024 21:43

Re dog walking and dog sitting ( also cat sitting ) there is an app called Rover that you can advertise your services on. When we first got our dog I used a lovely lady from there who came and sat with our dog and took her out for us. She had a freelance job and just bought her laptop and worked from our house. Other than that we’ve used a cat sitter who came in twice a day to feed her. She would come before and after work. She charges between £12 and £18 a day depending on season.

Bloatedbelly · 11/09/2024 21:45

You can put yourself on Rover to look after peoples dogs and earn a bit of money.

If you have space/time people also often need small animals looked after, rabbits, Guinea pigs etc.

PandaWorld · 11/09/2024 22:00

Following as also want to do the same. Tried the babysitting route but not had any luck.

ghosti · 11/09/2024 22:04

Take in some ironing. Advertise locally for cleaning services.
