It's not only rock stars that do this. It probably happens in e very town. It happened to my friend about 27 years ago. The marriage broke. A lot of water has gone under the bridge and they are friends and the adult kids are very close to dad.

Agree- in 2018 I actually saw Taylor at Wembley on the Friday night and Foos at London Stadium on the Saturday- and dare I say it, Taylor’s show was better!

I did actually wonder if maybe that had something to do with it, that this is the second time they’ve both toured and been in London at the same time, and both times Taylor got to play Wembley whilst Foos played the less prestigious venue. Perhaps Dave’s a bit bitter about that.

Off topic but interesting what you were saying about Tim Armstrong, Brody Dalle and Josh Homme too. I was also a massive Rancid fan, loved Tim's voice and lyrics. I struggled to listen to them for a bit when I found out about him getting together with Brody when she was 16 and he was 30, and apparently being controlling. Then again it sounds like both Brody and Tim had pretty tough upbringings. Not sure about Josh. Quite sad all round really, with kids involved etc.

Same, I used to have a crush on Tim. I didn’t realise for ages about Brody Dalle because she was in her twenties when I became aware of the Distillers and I never questioned her age. I’m the same as you, when I realised she was 16 and he was 30 it really changed things in my head. I saw them live after they split (before I knew the age gap) and he seemed genuinely devastated about breaking up as they talked about it on stage. When I later found out how young she was when they met it just all felt so wrong and I haven’t listened to them much since. I don’t think she is entirely innocent though, her new boyfriend sounds like a twat (possibly racist) and there were issues with the kids when she had them. But it’s hard to judge when you’re in the outside.

Problem is, so much of the art we consume that has been made by men is problematic. Music, literature, art - you start digging and they’ve all got some sort of skeleton in the closet like supporting Nazism or abusing kids or being misogynistic. That radio series ‘Evil Genius’ absolutely ruined so many people for me! I just wonder if there are any decent men out there who have been able to handle fame without exploiting someone…

I didn’t realise the extent of the accusations against Homme until recently. It’s all so messy.

I genuinely don’t understand how many of these rock stars haven’t even been in court let alone jail for their degenerate behaviour.
