AIBU to be in love with my adoptive brother?

Sorry for the clickbait title - this is actually just a fun thread.

Take the plot of a book and turn it into a AIBU

I'll start.

AIBU to want to marry my adoptive brother that my dad found somewhere and instead of just doing it, acting like a total bitch to him and everyone else even after I'd died?

I don't think this Sense & Sensibility one got enough love!

I clearly need to re-read sense and sensibility as I didn't remember any of this happening!

How can I fix my relationship with DH? When we first met, he seemed to worship me, but just after we married he discovered I'd given evidence in court against someone who was convicted and sentenced to death. Ever since then he's been very cold towards me, and keeps going off on "business". Should I ask my old friend from back home, who's suddenly turned up here as an ambassador, for some relationship advice? I tried DB, but he was useless.

Beansandneedles · 05/09/2024 20:07

Long story short, I'm living with my uncle, who I don't know well. There's not much to do here so I've been exploring the grounds. I found this locked gate which is all overgrown and I'm really intrigued. There's loads of other places I could be but I really wanna know what's behind this gate!

AIBU to go snooping around his house till I find the key? He's basically never here anyway...

keiratwiceknightly · 05/09/2024 20:09

I don't think iABU but my husband (not-so 'D'H) seems to.
Basically, I've always loved the lad who lives next door when we were children. He's been married a while now, but his wife is really boring and I happen to know that they don't really have a sex life any more. Ive tried to move on (tbh I did go with one guy just to make sexy neighbour jealous) but I can't get him out of my head. I'm now married to someone who despises me.
I'm tempted to just throw myself at sexy neighbour and suggest we run away together. I'm sure he won't be able to resist me!

Beansandneedles - go for it Mary!

🎭 🪶 Posting for advice. I’m in love with a boy my parents don’t approve of. In fact our families have a history of unpleasantness. Please help. I’m only 15

Don't see him any more. It's not going to end well.

Do it!
Also, have you thought about opening an ice cream parlour?

No, start a shoe factory first, THEN the ice cream parlour.

I have three daughters and I have some assets I want to give them before I die, but I don't want to break up the estate so I'm just going to pick one.

I want to make sure I'm looked after in my old age. Should I just ask each of them how much they love me and decide what to do based on the replies?

Beansandneedles · 05/09/2024 20:19

This thread is making me want to stop reading random novels from kindle unlimited and get onto some classics 😂

Save yourself and job and give it all to the youngest. Trust me.

I’ve just met an older man who is far more sophisticated than I. I’m naive and unworldly. He’s taken me to the place by the sea where he lives. I’m feeling slightly unsettled by all the pictures and belongings of his dead wife

statusquochangeneeded · 05/09/2024 20:24

Help!!

I recently moved to a new neighbourhood and met this incredibly wealthy man who throws the most extravagant parties every weekend. Strangely, he never seems to attend them, and no one really knows where his fortune comes from. He’s obsessed with this woman who lives across the bay, and he’s convinced that if he could just recreate the past, he’d win her back. I’m worried his dream might be blinding him to reality.

AIBU to tell him my thoughts?

My girlfriend accidentally got shot and killed by a crazy guy who was trying to kill my best friend.

AIBU to destroy the world with dark magic?

YABU because you'll likely go all scary and veiny while you do it

My husband is very ambitious and superstitious. Recently he was informed of a series of prophesies from some local women telling him he was destined for great things. He has taken this all a bit too seriously and some people have died. Unfortunately I got caught up in the craziness and involved in his schemes, though I now deeply regret my actions. Should I ltb?

On a slightly related note can anyone recommend a very good hand cream, preferably one that removes soaked in bloodstains.

Which book is this? Is it the same one a few earlier posters did about meeting in France and moving to Cornwall? It sounds great and I'd like to read it Smile

Beansandneedles · 05/09/2024 20:28

I keep having these strange dreams, like memories of lives I’ve never lived. In one, I’m a musician in the early 20th century; in another, I’m a journalist uncovering a conspiracy in the ‘70s. Sometimes, I’m living in a dystopian future or sailing across the Pacific. Strangest of all, these lives seem connected, as if every action I take ripples across time, binding me to people I’ve never met.

Can your soul really stretch across centuries like that? Or should I lay off the cheese before bed?

HouseFullOfChaos · 05/09/2024 20:28

ESH

Literally everyone is just so unlikeable!

I hate and love them all at the same time. It’s such a classic. It’s not a romance though is it ?

Not RTFT sozza. Yes. It’s Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. A masterpiece x

I’d say you were the more ambitious of the two Lady M

Thank you! I think Rebecca has been sat on my kindle for a couple of years after it was on a 99p deal. It'll be my next read
