BOOTS [the shop] sex toys on the shelves now!

It's one thing to see condoms and lube for sale in a pharmacy, I'd expect that.

The attached picture is a bit much though, surely they should be behind the counter or in those plastic tag boxes.

Also that sleeve doesn't look like it would fit much of anything in it. 😬

I don't really mind it until you have a toddler in tow with the favorite phrase "mummy what's that" on repeat 😂😂

Calm down- just don’t browse the condom aisle?

Eh, there is a whole AISLE allocated to them?? Or just part of a shelf in that aisle???

Holy heavens!!! 😂

I don't agree with adult sex items being on sale where children can see them. Also the normalisation of anal sex for young women and girls is dangerous.

I agree 👍🏾.

Hyperbowl · 05/09/2024 14:45

YABU, my local Tescos sells these on the shelf as well.

notedbiscuits · 05/09/2024 14:46

Some supermarkets have been selling this stuff for years.

My local Tesco has a selection of vibrators. Weirdly, they're next to the toothpaste!

TBF I used to use a electric toothbrush (not the bristles end!) as an emergency vibrator.

Yozzer87 · 05/09/2024 14:51

Old news.

networkname · 05/09/2024 14:53

Totally agree with you OP, and for all those posters patronisingly telling you not to browse the shelf... they're right next to very unrelated items in my local shop.

LBFseBrom · 05/09/2024 14:54

Gordon Bennett, they look like aliens from outer space!

It doesn't affect me, I prefer the real thing.

I don’t see the ‘need’ for plenty of products they sell in Boots, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t sell them.

It’s just a discreet, functional sex aid. It’s not like it’s a silicon effigy of an elephant’s cock, is it?

I remember years ago at a cash and carry near me they used to have ginormous rubber cocks behind the counter, all colours, mainly big sizes. One of them was halfway to elephant! 😂😂

There will be a reason they are located where they are.

Backtoanoldname · 05/09/2024 15:00

Now if Boots were in the US. I wonder what JD Vance and his weird mates would make of these openly on sale?

Women enjoy themselves? Never.

been doing it for years, honestly nothing wrong with it

The anal sex thing, I don’t like the normalisation (driven by porn largely I think) where there is no education for young men or even men in general to take the time and care to do it properly so their partner is not uncomfortable. Not doing it right can cause pain and I don’t like the way there is the attitude you can just ‘shove it in’ and women will enjoy it.

But this is just like blokes who just go for it with ‘traditional’ sex with no foreplay. We all know there are far too many around.

Anal should be between experienced couples with plenty of prep and explicit consent.

Edited for an embarrassing amount of typos!

It's a bloody miracle if there's anything on the shelves in our local Boots.....

Yea Boots is rubbish now. I have seen this stuff for years in shops.

Why is it a bit much? People wank. It is not a new invention

DoloresHargreeves · 05/09/2024 15:26

Pharmacy is the best place for them, right next to the smelling salts.

StarGirrrl77 · 05/09/2024 15:27

DH once bought be a very much unwanted kitchen appliance for my birthday, and once he got over his huff at me not dancing with joy on the receipt of such an imaginative gift, he returned it and gave me a Boots voucher instead. I used it to buy one of these. It's the closest thing to any sex provision he's given me in about 13 years 😂

I don't think that anal sex tracks a political divide.
