Mumsnet seems to be the only one where people are witty with banter.
I've not found another where you can talk as you do in real life.
They often are full of things which just aren't like true conversation.
Or maybe it's ME

Slubberdegullion · 17/04/2008 17:43

I'm a member of Mumknowsbest. It's quite nice over there, bit quiet, but still perfectly pleasant.

I post on a forum where it's all fluffy and we call each other hun and use silly smilies. And then when I'm in need of some entertainment I come here.

LyraSilvertongue · 17/04/2008 17:53

Which site devil? And what's your username?

waffletrees · 17/04/2008 18:16

I had never heard of Mothering until now - good grief it is grim.

bohemianbint · 17/04/2008 18:19

i-village is alright...the board I was on people were nice to each other all the time, but it was...nice. Not OTT huns.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 17/04/2008 18:20

Waffle - yes, rather grim, isn't it?!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 17/04/2008 18:20

is/was anyone on UKparents?

RosaDLuxe · 17/04/2008 18:59

Mothering is SO mental it's entertaining - I've never seen a forum so judgemental and self righteous though, and very American. It would be funnier if any kind of debate wasn't shut down - go over there and advocate controlled crying or even suggest that it's ok to bottle feed and they'll all be after you with pitchforks And they call each other "mama"!!

MrsMattie · 17/04/2008 19:00

Mothering

branflake81 · 17/04/2008 19:04

BBC Parenting is good and has some nice people but its very heavily moderated. If you dare to discuss anything not child related they close your post down.

MrsBadger · 17/04/2008 19:10

yes they are

and the main reason is that you can swear on MN so do not have to resort to saying things are 'poop'

scottishmummy · 17/04/2008 19:12

never strayed to other sites.monogamous to MN

Surfermum · 17/04/2008 19:18

I can't get on with any of them. I hate all the tickers and photos.

I used to go on Raising Kids for a bit but it was so slow. It could take a week in between my post and the next person, there was no sense of chatting. And then I got told off by the moderators twice because I dared to put mumsnet in a post and talk about how great it was here when we were being slagged off. They edited my post and then posted to say you've edited it but what I wanted to say was this .... and I got told off again! So I've never been back.
