You have friends over for two nights — does the hoover get brought out at all?

Just that really.

Curious as I always whip the cordless around when we have people over. We have a dog who isn’t a shedder but her treats can be crumbly (she often moves from her bed where she should eat them). I like the house to feel fresh. I would probably flash mop the hard floors as well but only if friends are not up/out. Wouldn’t do it in front of them for some reason.

I will probably sound nuts but I genuinely get the cordless out 3/4 times a day. I do a ten min hoover in the morning (all floors) and then just whip out the Shark for 30 seconds or so when I see a mess throughout the day. I wfh.

I’m not confident people don’t mind. I just know I’m not being obtuse about when I choose to hoover.

Just curious if I’m in the minority of people who hoover when they have guests.

Well, put it this way. I’ve moved around a lot internationally, stay with different sets of friends in different countries a lot, and have them/their kids to stay with me a lot. I’ve never taken out the vacuum while they were here unless there was an exploded crisp packet or something, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of them take out a vacuum at their places in twenty-five years, unless it was a shared family house they were cleaning at the end of our stay for another family visitor, in which case we were all mucking in.

Only if there was something spilled.
