Doctors are very likely to refer lumps in that area in case they are related to a lesion which could eventually affect the spinal cord. It's much more likely to be something like a lipoma. Any particularly firm or fast growing lump would be checked to exclude sarcoma or soft tissue tumour. Basically anything near the spine needs checking.

And yes, hitting a lipoma would be a terrible idea. This advice was for ganglion cysts, which are much better treated with aspiration or excision.

Btw I am in us. I just Stumbled upon this app while looking for; well, exactly this. ABUNCH of moms to talk to; don't have that here without judgment or hateful comments. I've got what to expect and baby center and Facebook groups and none of them compare to this app right here. Tbh.

That's basically saying he has a solid lump, they don't know what it is exactly yet, but it's nothing nasty.

The dermatologist just called and talked to me about it and basically told me what the freaking ultrasound said but it still is considered as indeterminate but it doesn’t raise any suspicions to be cancerous or anything bad but he did say it would be best to take him to the pediatric surgery department to either take it out or take a sample and have it tested to see what it is

Just still can't seem to stop worrying, it's been a month straight now. I'm exhausted from the worrying.

I think you need to go and book a biopsy and discuss the pros/cons of removal
