I agree that these are racist thugs who are enjoying an opportunity to fight. But whilst they aren’t thinking of the NHS or public services as they throw bricks, it is nevertheless being done against a backdrop of resentment and dissatisfaction. Governments ignore an unhappy population at their peril, and dismissing the riots as being the behaviour of a small irrelevant racist minority is a dangerous mistake.

I'll be joining the counter protest in Nottingham. They need to get the message they're not welcome & they're outnumbered.

They are meeting at the railway station & travelling away from the City, ds isn't running the trip, just going along to help & supervise, he is messaging the person who is running the trip & they can make the decision.

Don't be ridiculous. I blame politicians going back to Tony Blair. They took the racially harmonious country of the 90s and turned it into a divided country. There have been multiple attacks by asylum seekers maybe with mental health issues from dangerous countries in recent years - Reading - 3 gay men murdered in park, David Amess mp, little girl in Bolton, man in Hartlepool, several in Bournemouth. We can't even deport dangerous criminals like acid attack man who had done several sexual crimes because of blairs human rights laws. Only yesterday kurdish asylum seekers jailed for trying to push someone under a train for looking at him wrongly. These sorts of crimes never happened previously.
People like Starmer don't give a crap as they have protection. Their most important task is safety and security of the public including most vulnerable and they have failed. People of all races deserve better. The riots are a result if people's frustration at being ignored.

I find it interesting that expertise and resources are directed at preventing young Muslims from being radicalised, but little is done to prevent young white men from being caught up in racist groups. I think the 2 processes are pretty similar. Young, disaffected men, facing financial hardship, looking for an identity, a “tribe” to follow, a belief system to identity with - and ending up filled with hate and a desire to hurt people.

From what I can see on other social media people are angry and want answers. They don’t want to see baby faced pictures of the suspect from when he was a little kid splashed all over the newspapers. They want to see what he looks like now as an almost 18 year old suspected violent child murderer.

They don’t want the new pm threatening the protesters. They want to hear about what he’s going to do to make our children safe at school and in clubs. How he will tackle terrorism and violent crime. Attacking children is an act of terror….ive been getting emails from holiday clubs talking about extra safety measures after the attack. We are all scared because of this act.

The weak stance from Labour, playing it down in the media etc is giving the far right all the ammo it sadly needs to jump on this.

We have a very weak, inexperienced government and they’ve mismanaged this on N epic scale.

I live WITH these people. They truly believe in their "protest". It's generations of ignorance. I don't want to call them thick but they can't see beyond the stories they were raised with. They are thugs and criminals and live for drama and an arguement. I hope many of them get arrested.

I’m fairly sure the way to demand the government tackle violent crime is not to go out and commit violent crime.

Well I don't live in these areas and I'm not rioting but I still have extreme concerns about all the attacks we are seeing, and hatred from various communities. I'm extremely worried about the world my daughters will live in. That doesn't make me radicalised.

I live in the South East and my local hospital is staffed by doctors and nurses from countries such as Nigeria and India. So those hospital waiting lists would be in a worse state if they were not here
Also , I hope these racists thugs are willing and able to look after their elderly parents, because just in case they haven’t noticed we have an ageing population . Care homes are being staffed by people who have been encouraged to come here because we have a shortage of staff in the care sector as the indigenous population do not want to do the job.
The reason there is a shortage of housing is because successive governments have failed to build social housing
If these yobs had a brain cell between them they would be aware that the reason we have people trying to get here on boats is because Britain (along with other Western nations )has contributed to the destabilisation of countries such as Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.
These countries have links with Britain and therefore Britain is the first port of call for those whose lives have been destroyed by Western foreign policy
