to think these people in Sunderland are not "protesting".

They are not protestors. They are not protesting. They are common or garden thugs and criminals who are causing criminal damage, setting police offices on fire and attacking police officers.

Total scumbags.

From what I can see on other social media people are angry and want answers. They don’t want to see baby faced pictures of the suspect from when he was a little kid splashed all over the newspapers. They want to see what he looks like now as an almost 18 year old suspected violent child murderer.

They don’t want the new pm threatening the protesters. They want to hear about what he’s going to do to make our children safe at school and in clubs. How he will tackle terrorism and violent crime. Attacking children is an act of terror….ive been getting emails from holiday clubs talking about extra safety measures after the attack. We are all scared because of this act.

The weak stance from Labour, playing it down in the media etc is giving the far right all the ammo it sadly needs to jump on this.

We have a very weak, inexperienced government and they’ve mismanaged this on N epic scale.

So what has the experienced government done for the past fourteen years.

I live in the South East and my local hospital is staffed by doctors and nurses from countries such as Nigeria and India. So those hospital waiting lists would be in a worse state if they were not here
Also , I hope these racists thugs are willing and able to look after their elderly parents, because just in case they haven’t noticed we have an ageing population . Care homes are being staffed by people who have been encouraged to come here because we have a shortage of staff in the care sector as the indigenous population do not want to do the job.
The reason there is a shortage of housing is because successive governments have failed to build social housing
If these yobs had a brain cell between them they would be aware that the reason we have people trying to get here on boats is because Britain (along with other Western nations )has contributed to the destabilisation of countries such as Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.
These countries have links with Britain and therefore Britain is the first port of call for those whose lives have been destroyed by Western foreign policy
These yobs lack any critical thinking skills.

All those doctors and nurses are needed to deal with the extra population (and we don't train enough doctors and nurses have to pay for their own training, another great idea from the tories). Countries were destabilised by Blair and Cameron (Libya) I certainly didn't agree with their evil wars. But that doesn't mean we should allow an endless supply of young men from war zones many of whom are commiting attacks on people particularly women and girls. They are my first priority.

Scumbags

They should disperse them with water cannons

I loved the scumbag (I think it was Hartlepool) that got his arse attacked by the police dog. Served him right

I was also amused by the thug who let his plums get in the way of a flying brick. Removing himself from the breeding pool for the benefit of the human race.

Apolloneuro · 03/08/2024 01:40

I agree that there are inevitably people here who shouldn’t be. Unfortunately the processing of them has been very inefficient, whilst time and money was spent on the Rwanda idea, that was never going to take off (excuse the pun)

The new government needs to very quickly start to process the applicants and remove anyone with a previous serious criminal record or who are not eligible. And stop the irregular entry into the country.

Despite the high profile, very small percentage of people come in the irregular way and are harder to track down.

Theemeperorsnewclothes · 03/08/2024 01:40

The scary thing is, I see these reprobates at the school gates, on social media, in social circles. They, and their children are the horrors within school, social media, and social circles that make all of our lives hell. It literally is broken Britain. The terrifying thing is, we are beyond an answer. There is no answer. Years and years of horrendous poverty and deprivation and poor education for “our own” (categorised by the right). Weak justice, and no accountability (as categorised by the left) Globalisation/immigration coming to crisis point. It is a terrifying, perfect storm.

“The people who start revolutions have determined the institutions currently in place in society have failed or no longer serve their intended purpose”

This is all on our past and present leaders. We need a different electorate, we need a different voting system, we need those in power to represent the majority. We need change.

Of course they should. If only we had prison places to accommodate them.

You don't necessarily need prison places to lock people up.

Bring back the pillory!

What is your point?
The people who are rioting don’t see it that way. Are you dismissing the views of everyone who disagrees with you as lacking in critical thinking skills? Because that might be part of the problem. Young angry men who feel ignored. As I said before - governments ignore an unhappy population at their peril.

BeachParty · 03/08/2024 01:47

Biggest YANBU ever.
My local FB page is making me feel sick at the minute, depressing to think live amongst so many racist thugs going by the comments.
We're not even anywhere bloody near any of these riots but doesn't stop them sticking their oar in and inciting shit! 😥

Anyone who decides that attacking police / police vehicles, looting shops, attacking innocent people is acceptable lacks critical thinking skills and is morally corrupt.

They're nothing more than racist yobs and hooligans with the IQ of a potted plant.
They ought to be rounded up, clapped in chains and made to clean up the mess they've made by hand.
Why should decent law abiding people have to put up with their communities being destroyed by those mindless thugs!
Why should decent law abiding people be fearful of going about their lawful business or have their property destroyed?
And using the murder of three innocent little girls as an excuse for what they're doing is despicable.

People are angry, a person born and brought up in Britain, is alleged to have committed a heinous act, so it's OK to justify other people destroying property, injuring our police, wasting our resources and threatening people because they don't look like them?

These jumped up ignorant fuckers are using a tragedy to politicise their agenda if hate.. it's heinous.

I don't give a flying fuck about what they want.

This was a sad, despicable act of violence by a underage teenager. Why do you think rioting in the streets will prevent this from happening again? Right now, the best thing our PM could do, is get these mindless thugs off our streets.

This has been caused by the fear and hate being whipped up by the likes of Farage, Braverman, Anderson, Patel. The new Labour government has to fix something broken by the previous administration and to blame them for this is utterly inane. You are at least 3 years early with the riots for that.

Edingril · 03/08/2024 02:34

Actually one way to end the protests is for the police and politicians to stand there and debate them 'OK so Actually explain why you are here, give me one coherent answer that makes sense'

Wonder how articulate they would be?

YorkshireTeaBiscuits · 03/08/2024 02:40

I wish somebody would accidentally on purpose set loose some XL bullies in the middle of the rioting thugs. Might as well put those dogs to some use and save the tax payers some money on prison costs for these yobs.

They are absolutely not protesting. I'm local and grew up in the 80s with football hooligans at Roker Park.

I came down to Sunderland for university and lived just off Hylton Road, near where they were having a go at the mosque. It's a bloody disgrace; like many places, there's always been a racist element, I remember the mosque on Chester Road getting firebombed.

My SiL is in the West End of Newcastle, less than 100 yards from the little Mosque and not very far from the big one, just off the West Road. The Indian food shop is just on the corner from her, too; I hope they don't smash it up.

I live at the coast and saw a Coptic priest being abused a couple of years ago. A big silver cross on his turban and one on a necklace didn't seem to convince the moron that he wasn't a Muslim.

They're just violent hooligans, using nothing as an excuse for a tear up. I feel sorry for anyone who lives near the likely trouble spots.

Valeriekat · 03/08/2024 03:06

candycane222 · 02/08/2024 22:46

Disgusting - it's mass hysteria, fuelled by social media, coke and self-regarding grifting racists like Farage and Robinson - whose organisations should be proscribed under anti-terrorism legislation.

No mosques in easy reach of me (very rural, nothing here) but if there were, I would want to get down there in solidarity.

No it is just any excuse for violence. Some of these will be the same as the Antifa protectors.

Two British Indian female politicians notable for their sustained ant-immigrant rhetoric when in government. And the two white male politicians mentioned in the same sentence.

I love Sunderland. It's a fab city that for some reason gets a bad press. I used to live there many years ago and there's always been a very small but vocal racist element to the city, but I think that often happens in areas of deprivation. However the organised clean up mentioned by a previous poster is far more representative of the Sunderland I know than a load of cunts destroying the city.

The mackem's I know are a friendly and creative bunch and all take great pride in their city. I've already heard from a few friends from their and they're horrified at what is happening and worried about the people being targeted.

Thanks you for your comment

I'm from Sunderland and it's full of lovely hardworking people

Don't be ridiculous. I blame politicians going back to Tony Blair. They took the racially harmonious country of the 90s and turned it into a divided country. There have been multiple attacks by asylum seekers maybe with mental health issues from dangerous countries in recent years - Reading - 3 gay men murdered in park, David Amess mp, little girl in Bolton, man in Hartlepool, several in Bournemouth. We can't even deport dangerous criminals like acid attack man who had done several sexual crimes because of blairs human rights laws. Only yesterday kurdish asylum seekers jailed for trying to push someone under a train for looking at him wrongly. These sorts of crimes never happened previously.
People like Starmer don't give a crap as they have protection. Their most important task is safety and security of the public including most vulnerable and they have failed. People of all races deserve better. The riots are a result if people's frustration at being ignored.

Your last sentence is exactly the problem behind these demonstrations/riots/protests or whatever someone wishes to call them. The working class of all faiths and colours feel disinfranchised from our ruling classes. They believe their concerns are not listened to and acted on.

I don't believe heinous crimes like Southport or the ones you describe didn't happen before. But they do seem to be more frequent in recent years.

Like you I am no fan of Blair and do blame his leadership and dishonesty along with his love of Bush (President and warmongerer) for a lot of the worlds problems today. I live in hope given his conversion to catholicism, he gets the full treatment down below.

Think ali has got confused. The monkey myth is about Hartlepool and dates back hundreds of years. Look up the Trinkomelee, interesting story.
