to think these people in Sunderland are not "protesting".

They are not protestors. They are not protesting. They are common or garden thugs and criminals who are causing criminal damage, setting police offices on fire and attacking police officers.

Total scumbags.

So the issue is with men.

Btw the language “if this is true” is an attempt to defend a charge of incitement. You will see racist posters on Mumsnet using it to circulate racist rumours. There is at least one poster on AIBU who does this, they are here to do the UK damage imo.

Don’t want to be nit-picky, but there’s actually no legal offence of incitement any more. It’s been abolished. Equivalent offences are in place.

BIossomtoes · 03/08/2024 12:23

The best thing to do with bad people (apart from arrest them) is to laugh at them.

It’s proving quite a successful tactic against Trump. He hates it.

Cocothecoconut · 03/08/2024 12:23

Any excuse to play with fire and rob shops

Xenia · 03/08/2024 12:24

Men can get very out of hand as most women know. It was the same with the Roma community recently when the children were taken away although I think social services gave in there to an extent due to the riots and took the children from where they had been placed and instead places them with family so perhaps crime does pay in some cases (hopefully not).

Summerflames · 03/08/2024 12:25

Not to say your point isn't valid @ViciousCurrentBun but the question arises of what to do with refugees. Our goverments are the reason they come here. I doubt the solution is that "we should be allowed to build mosques in mecca".

I don't think attempting to send them to Rwanda was particularly humane either.

Lampzade · 03/08/2024 12:25

Summerflames · 03/08/2024 10:48

Errrm not when they come under hate speech, they don't! Love!

I was just about to say this

A judge made that decision, not social services. Presumably on the basis of information that we are not privy to.

Summerflames · 03/08/2024 12:34

Well done Liverpool 👏

Personally for this rabble I would put 6 of them in a cell and to hell with human rights or utilise some mediaeval dungeons - I was in one today, it was lovely and cool in the heat, perhaps it would cool some of these hotheads down

They weren't even cooled down by the bloody rain we had here, last night. Sunderland has enough problems without being trashed by these violent knuckle heads.

No. It’s standard practice to remove children if there are serious or immediate concerns and then look for kinship care first. They were returned to wider family I think. It wasn’t to do with the rioting.

Watched another vid on tik tok. Some guy was asked what he was protesting. He said something like "listen right, we have no problem with mosques being built over here, as long as we can build mosques in Mecca". So it seems that that's what this whole thing is about. Got it. Makes sense 🙄

If he wants to build mosques in Mecca, that's great. Building a place for the remembrance of Allah - brilliant way of encouraging people in their practice of Islam. He'd just need to get authorisation from the people in charge and then I'm sure he'd be welcome to get stuck in.

Circlesinthesand · 03/08/2024 13:00

At least no one can ever deny that there is a racism problem in the UK.
(Which I used to read on here a lot)

England. These are English racist thugs rioting in England. Not happening in other UK countries, yet anyway.

Reminds me of the 2011 riots across the UK.

Also England. Very annoying for folk from other UK countries when this behaviour is described as British. Don't tar us all with the same brush please. England voted us out of the EU. England voted in Reform MP's, no other UK countries.

selldonaterecycle · 03/08/2024 13:01

Thugs and racists. Ignorant masses the lot of them. No intention of finding out truths and making their own informed decisions about anything. Lock them up.

There's riots in Ireland, or at the very least NI too over this.

Summerflames · 03/08/2024 13:05

Plus there are scheduled riots planned for Glasgow. They may well be English people who travel there but I reckon there will be a few Scots amongst them.

Oh we have bams who are scumbags in Glasgow just as they do in other parts of the UK, no doubt about it. Most of them love a good riot after rangers/celtic win/lose at football.

Shameful, thuggish behaviour. These people are layabout racists who are looking for an excuse to riot and loot, then scapegoating immigrants and targeting Muslims, when in fact they’re the ones dividing the community and damaging public property!

Xenia · 03/08/2024 13:10

Ireland has had protests. Most countries in the EU /UK probably need to listen to working class people a bit more and communicate a bit better.

I agree i think it is being done by design huge numbers of men coming in, being housed in hostels/hotels who got those contracts? Which mps have their fingers in those lucrative pies always look at the money trail. Sadly its us tax payers and people who just want to live their lives in peace that get caught up in all this. These riots are in no way justified at all, remember what happened in Egypt there were communities/neighbourhoods who came together to protect each other just like Liverpool has done that is what we need to do, don't let the govt yes I include the govt I don't care if its red or blue they have allowed hate speech some mps have themselves uttered hate speech which is a green light to racists, the govt red or blue are also the ones letting in large numbers of undocumented men and housing them in different communities but not in their own areas! Doubt you'll see a load of men housed near their homes! Anyone thinks Labour is any different to tories I feel sorry for you, their all the same, they have all signed up to the WEF and UN plans along with over 100 other countries. Democracy what a joke. The fact so many voted reform is a concern, having read some of what reform were supposedly standing for I would have voted for them too if I couldn't think about how they were going to pay for what they were claiming! It sounded great less taxes on the lowest more money for the NHS! But as always they will say whatever will get them elected then they will do whatever their told to do by wef and they will make whatever deals benefit them and their friends and families! They don't care if Eileen at 96 years old can't heat her home as long as they mps get their winter fuel allowance and their subsidies and can claim back all their costs even though they are earning 80k! Cushy job
