I can't find the original thread posted here, so sorry to start another. For anyone interested the XY boxer, Imane Khelif is to box tomorrow: Live on Eurosport from 11:20 versus Angela CARINI from Italy. It beggars belief that a genetically determined male gets to box the shit out of a female.

Admittedly no, I first read it yesterday and didn't see it updated. I don't see much has changed though - a corrupt organisation that is no longer recognised by the IOC has made a claim for which they are still unwilling to provide any details or evidence.

The IOC is a corrupt organisation!

The "stunning and brave" narrative about Laurel Hubbard didn't fool anyone so instead of taking a stand for fairness and safety in women's sports their new approach is "we'll let males compete in women's sporting events, even boxing where they could potentially kill their female competitors, but we'll try to ban the global media from saying that these people are male".

Disgusting.

Of course it's about evidence. If they are men, of course they shouldn't be allowed to compete. But so far there isn't any.

They are allowed to compete. We aren't allowed to say that they are men.

Also whilst the IBA can’t release this man’s medical testing results, he could. This boxer in question could put an end to all of this by sharing his results himself, how strange he hasn’t.

TheKeatingFive · 01/08/2024 10:27

It's very simple, if the IOC is going to discount the evidence from the IBA, then they need to implement their own testing.

In the press conference, the IOC official referenced these men's passports as proof that they are female. But we all know that the sex classification on passports can be changed to create legal fiction (look where that has gotten us 🙄).

So bring back the swab tests that they used to use. They are quick and unobtrusive.

Neither of them followed through on appeals following the IBA's decision either. I wonder why? 🤔

Appalonia · 01/08/2024 10:28

The ' evidence' is that they have F ( female ) on their passports. What an absolute travesty this is. And there are protests being organised for Friday morning in Paris

What in the actual…these are both men, who are being allowed to box against women in the Olympics. They were already disqualified from the World Championships for failing testosterone tests, yet they’re allowed to punch women in the face now?

Yes. It's called 'inclusion'. Their passports say Female so anything goes.

Devilsmommy · 01/08/2024 10:36

It's absolutely enraging that in 2024 it's now perfectly legal for a man to beat up a woman 😡

Naunet · 01/08/2024 11:39

And now we have it, the cheating man is through because the Italian had to stop the fight. Fuck the IOC.

timenowplease · 01/08/2024 15:02

"This test conclusively indicated that both athletes did not meet the required necessary eligibility criteria and were found to have competitive advantages over other female competitors."

Gosh, I wonder what they found?🍆🍆🍆

Nah, I don't wonder. It was peen.

PetrichorSoul · 01/08/2024 15:05

My heart breaks for the women who have worked so hard to get to these competitions and these cowardly cheating males just sweep the podium.

It's achingly unfair.

KrisAkabusi · 01/08/2024 08:57

Why do you think that neither of them appealed the previous decision to ban them? If they are women then of course they should not have been banned from women's competitions.

AuntieEstablishment · 01/08/2024 15:11

I don't quite understand this story. Are they men who have pretended to be women in order to further their careers, or are they intersex? Or do we not know because the evidence released publicly doesn't tell us?

They are men.

Marcipex · 01/08/2024 15:25

They are men. Clearly, obviously, undeniably …. except for the reporting bans.

Marcipex · 01/08/2024 15:26

The IOC is a disgrace.

G123456789 · 01/08/2024 15:35

If you look on the BBC news website they report the story. But say the organisation that banned the trans boxers last year are "Russian lead" and that the sainted ioc are running this competition. They also suggest that the boxer "isn't a big puncher"
You will note they are showing the Italian boxers interview, but nothing of the fight...despite them holding the rights. Nor does it appear on the BBC I player app!
Strange don't you think?

What do you think intersex means?

There is no 'middle' sex. No half-and-half. No third sex.

All it means is that a male person or a female person has a rare condition known as DSD.

They may have DSDs (intersex is not the correct term) but they know perfectly well they are men as they were disqualified from the women's competition following testing last year.

hollyblueivy · 01/08/2024 15:40

This is really hard to fathom.

mids2019 · 01/08/2024 15:48

This is men hitting women publically with no sanction. There will have been a cheering crowd. The woman athlete was hit hard and is possibly traumatised. The gulf in power between men and women is immense.

This needs to stop and the IOC shamed. Only good thing is that the public revulsion may bring the authorities to think again.

mids2019 · 01/08/2024 16:05

Cancel this event....
we cannot have an Olympic sport of men beating the sh#t out of women period. It is a disgrace.

The Italian was a hard women but took two blows which made her fear for serious injury. One blow was hard enough to dislodge her chinbelt, the other possibly broke her nose. The job are under huge pressure and I would not be surprised if the event was now cancelled in this catgeory. No woman can beat this man and you risk serious injury to female competitors.

The optics are horrendous when governments across the world are acting against vawg.
