There needs to be so much more focus on male violence against women and girls. Every other angle will be explored ad infinitum but the fact that the perpetrator is almost always male and the victims so often female seems to go largely unmentioned. (Maybe not so much here, but in general)

The individual in question is in police custody and may be charged with very serious offences. Under the circumstances, it’s pointless to speculate about possible motives without any evidence or to post anything which might prejudice a future trial.
