TittiesOutPutThemBack · 30/07/2024 12:34

Just that really!

on holiday at the mo and I cant even count the number of times I have seen topless women sunbathing at the beach… next to kids!…on non-nudist beach!

I really don’t want to see titties out in the middle of the day

on top of that I don’t fancy my teenage boys or even my DH having a look at them either

its obvious they’re coming from certain European countries ! Do they have no sense of what’s right or wrong ?

AIBU?

Just because you don’t agree with it

Your original post prior to you editing it read this.
Well if tits are seen and in show…. Toys are seen and on show…. Makes no odds in what situation, so you can’t say it’s not the same.

That post made absolutely no sense.

Of course you can, but if you don't understand context, and why glamour modelling in a men's publication with "News in Briefs" next to it isn't the same as a woman enjoying some sun on a beach...what's the point of trying to explain?

It’s my opinion, I find it grim that’s it. Obviously some people clearly love doing it but I don’t think it’s very classy. I find it tacky and I’d rather be described as a prude than tacky

StarlightLady · 30/07/2024 17:00

ClickClack300 · 30/07/2024 16:54

It’s freedom of choice but it’s infringement of others choice to do it in a family friendly beach. If someone is desperate to get them out then fine, but again, there is a time and a place.

But who decides where the line is drawn? I don’t like the colours grey or beige. I don’t want to see swimwear in those colours.

And the beach is an appropriate place for men and women to have their tops exposed. My breasts are nothing to be ashamed of because someone in history (male) decided they were.

For the same logic, l don’t expect to see bare chests, male or female, when walking down the street.

Ok, you find it grim. That's your right.

But it doesn't mean a thing beyond that. It's something you don't like. So don't do it and don't go to places where it's done. It's just something you don't care for, big whoop. That doesn't mean the people who do it are wrong, morally inferior or anything else. You don't like a thing, so don't do the thing. That's it.

NinaPersson · 30/07/2024 17:04

I’m not a fan of it. I’m not sure why it’s so appealing for people to do. That’s just me though, but I’m not here to be persuaded otherwise

ClickClack300 · 30/07/2024 16:41

Far from it. It’s what they represent. We banned page 3 because it was objectifying women’s boobs and here we are a few years later suggesting we should all be happy to see women with their boobs out on a family beach.

There is a time and a place and that’s not it. I don’t want to see your tits so cover them up and have respect l for others around you is what I’d be thinking. I think it’s classless and tacky

@ClickClack300
If you don’t want to see somebody’s breasts, then don’t go to a beach in a country where it is allowed. There are plenty of countries where being topless in public is not allowed. Why not go to such a place instead?
Women going topless in countries where it is not banned, are not doing anything wrong. If you don’t want to see them, don’t go there or avoid the beaches.
Would you be happy if someone told you that they do not want to see your arms, legs or hair because in their culture it is considered immodest?
Would you be happy if a woman posted here that she doesn’t want her husband/son looking at your legs/arms/hair so you should cover them up?

thefishingboatbobbingsea · 30/07/2024 17:09

Have you been living under a rock OP ??

I lived in Barcelona 40 years ago and the only people who got stared at were those with their tops ON . Literally everyone was topless including me !

Guess what ? I think all those families made it through to adulthood without the need for trauma counselling due to having seen their mothers (or sisters or other friends) breasts .

This is NOT a new fad !
Listen to the words of 1960s hit 'where do you go to my lovely'
It contains the lines

When you go on your summer vacation
You go to Juan-les-Pins
With your carefully designed topless swimsuit
You get an even suntan..

So you are getting worked up about
behaviour that has been normal for 60 years!

Pleasegodgotosleep · 30/07/2024 17:10

Why do you think your wants should trump theirs? They want to sunbathe topless, which is a cultural norm for them. Why is your cultural norm to be weird about breasts more important? If you don't like it dont go to the beach. And teach your husband and kids not to stare if its an issue.

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 30/07/2024 17:10

Some prudes here are going to have a bloody conniption if they find out that you can feed babies with them too!

I’m in my 50s. Tits are tits. Providing you’re not browsing around Tesco with them out (mine are so low they’d add an extra kg or two when weighing my spuds), likewise in a restaurant (mine’d be in my soup before my spoon would be) then please, unclench.

Adult DD and Adult DS have been around them since they were kids, they’re perfectly well adjusted humans.

I'm not being sarcastic at all. The thread is full of batshittery, from people claiming topless sunbathing on a European beach is equivalent to men shaking erect penises at people, wanking on the bus or sending nudes to married men. You getting into a lather because you're annoyed that you forgot about sunscreen, and subsequently trying to imply that your nipples are the only part of you that could burn, honestly barely registers against all that.

By this point, I'm just here for the saggy boob jokes.

Edited

The parts I hardly expose burn when I’m abroad. When I’m UK I sunbathe in my bikini when I can and have a base. I know therefore that my sensitive nipples, never exposed to the sun and torn apart by breastfeeding would definitely burn with sunscreen even with sunscreen, the same as the other parts of my body the first time they get exposed in the year.

Enjoy the saggy boob jokes, mine are beautiful and pert.

What is a family friendly beach? I don't think I've ever met a strip of beach specifically marked as family friendly and enforcing some additional rules.

Normal unmarked beaches are fair game for everyone and yes some people prefer being topless there, both men and women. Some people choose to bring their children there.

I don’t sunbathe at all… bad for your skin. Just got back from 3 weeks in Spain during which I spent a lot of time on the beach with my kids, and my pale, non sun exposed skin didn’t burn at all because I wore factor 50 sun cream the whole time. Not much can burn through regular applications of factor 50, even nipples!

Certain European countries. Are you holidaying in one of them?

Tbh I am dying to find out what are these countries!

Mine play “Born Free”! 😀

And swimming sans top, plus when you get out is far more comfy!
