A small, kind primary school, beach & countryside nearby.

Does this place exist? Ideally in Cornwall-close-ish to Perranporth/Newquay

Am I dreaming?

If you find it, I'm moving there too

Brightbreezydays · 27/07/2024 15:50

@Beula82 Do these types of place really not exist anymore? 😩

I live like that but no beach, I'm afraid.

bridgetreilly · 27/07/2024 15:53

Sure, if your budget is right.

Awumminnscotland · 27/07/2024 15:55

I live in this place but in Scotland.

Halfheadhighlights · 27/07/2024 15:57

Saltburn-by-the-Sea. Beautiful ( opposite end of the country to Cornwall though)

I live in a place exactly like this but it’s in the North West unfortunately.

Most things are possible if your budget stretches

BeaRF75 · 27/07/2024 16:41

I grew up in a cul de sac like this (apart from the beach) and, even when young, I loathed it. Tittle-tattling people who wanted to know your business and all so small minded. Haven't been back for over 40 years...
Be careful what you wish for, OP!

Dotto · 27/07/2024 16:47

Yes, I live here, countryside village, but beaches are a 20 min drive in any direction, and further south in Cornwall.

GoodVibesHere · 27/07/2024 16:55

Balamory?

Same. We have all the above except the beach. We love it.

tuttuttutt · 27/07/2024 16:58

Sounds awful. Places like this are usually filled with nosy buggers and gossips

RandomMess · 27/07/2024 17:06

I live in a nice cul de sac, lots of mature neighbours.

I often dream of getting in and out of my house without being questioned or stuck being talked at!

Cars parked on the pavements as so few use their driveways as they are narrow.

Definite lack of privacy!

DoublePeonies · 27/07/2024 17:09

Define nearby?
20-30 mins drive to the beach and moorland, and yes, you can have all that.
It's my street, but 7 hours drive to Cornwall.

MyBirthdayMonth · 27/07/2024 17:10

What kind of animals? Nothing drags a neighbourhood down like too many dogs.

purpleme12 · 27/07/2024 17:11

But how do you know in advance if this is the case?

Ponoka7 · 27/07/2024 17:14

There are places like that but unless you've got a big budget, you'd have to look further north or Wales/Scotland.

ButtSurgery · 27/07/2024 17:16

I live in one in Cornwall on the south coast. About 20mins drive to the nearest beach (due to B road speeds!). Nothing for sale here though, new neighbour moved in just last week! £220k+ for a 3 bed mid terrace with no parking outside as it's a closed road. All parking is at the end of the road then we hoof it down.

WanderMelRat · 27/07/2024 17:17

Neighbours kids playing on the cul-de-sac sounds like my idea of hell

KnickerlessParsons · 27/07/2024 17:17

Apart from the beech, I live there.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 27/07/2024 17:23

I live here. Not Newquay though, different bit of cornwall.

Have you looked at St columb?

Wery · 27/07/2024 17:26

I live there. Beach is an hour away but cul De sac with 5 houses. When DC were little there were children at each house, lots of playmates. Tiny village school, countryside 200m away.
It was a great place to bring up children. Very cheap part of UK.

Amimaimia · 27/07/2024 17:28

This sounds like a lot of West Wales

Doggymummar · 27/07/2024 17:30

My friend lived in Fowey it's like this
