A small, kind primary school, beach & countryside nearby.

Does this place exist? Ideally in Cornwall-close-ish to Perranporth/Newquay

Am I dreaming?

Yes, I live there- although not Cornwall. 15min walk to the beach or open fields and walking paths the other direction. Technically not a cul-de-sac, but a close/dead end, quiet lane. Lovely neighbours too.

Beula82 · 27/07/2024 15:39

If you find it, I'm moving there too

Ditto

LimesOfBronze · 27/07/2024 17:32

Don’t move to Cornwall! I live here and the grass isn’t greener.

What kind of animals? Nothing drags a neighbourhood down like too many dogs.

I can think of many things that bring a neighbourhood down. Dogs are not on my list.

TigerOnTour · 27/07/2024 17:36

You might need to look for somewhere big enough to have a flourishing school, rather than a tiny one constantly under the threat of closure.

IngenTing · 27/07/2024 17:41

Guernsey is like this. Especially around Cobo and Pembroke beach. Nice primary schools, beach etc

deveronvalley · 27/07/2024 17:49

North east Scotland - Aberdeenshire or Moray coastline

Sotiredmjmmy · 27/07/2024 17:49

Yes we have exactly this but 2 hours further up the coast road from where you’re looking

Amimaimia · 27/07/2024 17:28

This sounds like a lot of West Wales

No it doesn't. Sssshhhhhh.

Nursemumma92 · 27/07/2024 17:50

St Mawgan is exactly as you describe but very pricey!

IntriguingFactJumble · 27/07/2024 17:53

Yeah but in West Sussex...

CombatLingerie · 27/07/2024 17:55

I can understand the primary school, beach and countryside @Brightbreezydays but why the Cul de sac?

Gagaandgag · 27/07/2024 18:08

Watching 😂

HauntedbyMagpies · 27/07/2024 19:36

We have this except for the beach. On the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, it's lovely. The very best primary school and very, very best headteacher you could ever ask for, she's like everyone's mum! Love it

Brightbreezydays · 27/07/2024 19:36

@LimesOfBronze How come?

Brightbreezydays · 27/07/2024 19:47

@CombatLingerie Having visions of my Dd playing out safely with all the neighbourhood kids

@Brightbreezydays Cornwall really isn’t like the rest of the UK; you have to be sure that what Cornwall does have is worth the cost of all the things it doesn’t. It also rains all the damn time. Instagram Cornwall for one week in July is not representative of life here generally.

CombatLingerie · 27/07/2024 20:15

Ah I see @Brightbreezydays I think nowadays there are too many cars manoeuvring on and off driveways or trying to park in limited spaces to make that a reality. Cul de sac’s are notoriously bad for parking. Although perhaps the children could play in each other’s gardens if there are enough neighbouring children of a similar age?

tuttuttutt · 27/07/2024 16:58

Sounds awful. Places like this are usually filled with nosy buggers and gossips

🤣🤣

Brightbreezydays · 27/07/2024 21:57

@LimesOfBronze What things doesn’t it have? Why is it not like the rest of the U.K., is it not a good place to live?
