Smoking outside in populated public places.

It was a beautiful day as I sat outside my local coffee shop with my 2 children, drinking smoothies and soaking up the sunshine.
Then BOOM, the table next to us lights up a cigarette and it blows our way.

The day before we were lining the streets for a tractor run…. We had a front view and the kids are at the front. Then BOOM, a man behind us lights up just as it’s beginning and is breathing the smoke down on us.

Why oh why is smoking allowed outside, and not just in designated smoking areas, where they can all sit and smoke together. It happens us all the time.

Yes they’re entitled to do it, but is it right? Hell no.

I’d be happy for smoking to be banned in more places.

But I do think the opposition to vaping is frankly weird. It’s like some people have become vehemently opposed to others inhaling altogether.

Some vapes smell, but that’s for about a second. No smell sticks to your clothes or hair. There’s no health issue for anyone nearby (there’s none for the vaper either, not that that’s anyone but the vaper’s business anyway). And there’s no fag butt litter.

There is all the non-recyclable vape plastic though.
I'm all for vaping as a tool to stop smoking, I don't understand why folk would start vaping having never smoked.

If there were a large number of people who made a habit of standing close to other people and deliberately farting freely and pungently, nobody would be defending them on here or saying “it's perfectly legal, move away if you don’t like it”.

That doesn't mean anyone is proposing to ban farting.

Who do you know who vapes farts?

If I were you I’d have a word with them. Likely to be a sign of deeper issues, that.

Yes and vaping too. I have asthma and it can trigger attacks even outdoors. People did it when I was pregnant too and got all hostile when I said something. You can never say something no matter how politely. Some people are born selfish
