I will probably make some mackerel pate and have it on a baguette with salad and walnuts. Then a coffee and some chocolate

OP posts:

Sweet potato wrap with chicken and salad and a Danone chocolate protein pudding

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 16/07/2024 11:41

At work and have brought home made salad, an apple and some Brazil nuts.

Salad is cous cous, chick peas, spinach, grated carrot, pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, kale, sunflower seeds.

@stressedout1994 and @paywalled - if you hold down the letter E key it should bring up a list of options with acute, grave, umlaut and other accents over the letter -

I make tinned fish paté by mashing the mackerel (salmon, tuna, whatever) with a bit of cream cheese and horseradish and lots of pepper, plus whatever herbs seem appropriate.

I don't mention the fish part of the food, just call it paté, and my fish-refusing child used to eat it quite happily. Bloody kids 🙄

Thank you, I can do them on tablets/phones, but not pc keyboards. However, just looked it up and it's CTRL+apostrophe for é. Can't believe I never knew that.

Roasted veg, feta, merchant gourmet glorious grains

A free lunch provided by my employer. It could be a sandwich, or it could be a full three course job. Depends what's on the menu and what I feel like eating. I acknowledge I'm spoilt by this, and retirement will come as a bit of a shock on the lunch front.

Whaaaaat? Where do you work?! We just about get instant coffee and some UHT milk provided 😂

Oh, of course! Mine's a Mac so will have different controls and I didn't think about that.

(I'm going back to a normal laptop next time, Apple is too ornery to play nice with other software too often. I've finally got fed up of that)

Starlight1979 · 16/07/2024 11:48

I'm in the office in the city centre today and just about to nip out to go to one of the nice sandwich shops. Probably for a prawn mayo baguette with salad, crisps and a drink. Or maybe a jacket potato or something from the specials board🤔It's a treat anyway as I'm usually on beans on toast or a pot noodle when I'm working from home 😭

@NessasBoots I am so sorry I have quoted you....I don't know how this happened. I just posted it as a completely new post. Didn't want you to think I was taking the mickey! Your cob sounds lovely by the way and is making my stomach rumble. 😀

I’ve started having overnight oats a couple
of days a week, they’re so easy to make the night before and filling too. I mix oats with oat milk, yoghurt, frozen fruit (sometimes mango or raspberries) and a dash of vanilla essence. I couldn’t have it every day but it’s useful when I’m looking after a very active DC2 and need something on the go!

icallshade · 16/07/2024 11:51

3 sesame ryvita topped with mashed avocado, mango chunks, sweet chilli sauce and some crispy onions. And a yoghurt.

Genuinely curious about the overnight oats as some of the girls in the office here bring them in. Is it not just porridge??? Why are they made the night before? I have porridge in the morning but what am I missing out on?! 😂

It's an organisation catering from 200 to 1,200 people a day, so we get a free meal whilst on duty. This is after a long career in local government where we had to buy our own tea, coffee and milk, so it's all very much appreciated by me.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 16/07/2024 11:52

I don't want to show off and make you all jealous but...

A calorie controlled cottage pie from Tesco.

serialcatbuyer · 16/07/2024 11:57

I'm trying to save money and loose weight, so I'm having a portion of batch cooked macaroni cheese with peas as my one meal at about 1 or 2

Leftover lasagne from last night and three huge strawberries with yogurt

Classic Mumsnet dessert: three fucking strawberries.

MasterBeth · 16/07/2024 11:59

Huge, they were!

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 16/07/2024 11:59

Toasted flatbread topped with hummus, grated carrots cumber, lambs lettuce and chilli/garlic prawns and a little bit of sriracha sauce. We are going to the theatre tonight so planning this as a late lunch about 3pm.

BobbyBiscuits · 16/07/2024 12:00

Mackerel pate on a baguette sounds awesome! I really fancy smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, but I've run out of smoked salmon, and my last bagel is pretty stale. Also I fear the cream cheese may have gone mouldy?! Lol wish me luck.

Macandcheeese · 16/07/2024 12:01

Fish goujons on a sandwich with mayo & green leaves :)

I feel like I can't admit to the massive egg custard and Mars Bar sat in the fridge at work that I'm probably going to have as my dessert 😂

I think it's not porridge because the oats aren't cooked, just soaked so it isn't like eating dust. I like overnight oats but I make them with Greek yoghurt 😊

Giggorata · 16/07/2024 12:08

BLT.
yum

is brunch for me.

scoopoftheday · 16/07/2024 12:08

Two fried potato bread, two veg roll and an egg 😁

More of a brunch than a lunch
