The problem is that humor is a coping mechanism. It's instinctual. I don't know that it's practical to say people can't use it to help them cope.

I can never wrap my head around why people are so attached to guns. So many gun tragedies and still they hold their guns close. I would be utterly terrified to be anywhere near a gun.

No way is this a publicity stunt (and oddly, that's the sort of reaction I'd expect more from Trump supporters than his detractors).

Personally, I would be happy if Trump died in an accident or of natural causes, because I do think he's the single most dangerous person in the world, but I don't want to see him murdered.

I hear you. To me it's more about the type of gun. They have their place in the world, for example people who hunt for their own food, which a lot of people here in Canada do, particularly Native people. However, nobody needs an assault weapon but the military. Civilians should not get access.
There are actually a lot of rifles and shotguns here in Canada, but assault weapons are restricted. We don't have a high level of gun crime.

So the guy who shot him was supposedly on the roof for a couple of minutes with people in the crowd pointing at him and trying to alert the protection unit.

The gunman had a clean shot and still only caught his ear, like in the movies.

All this comes a week after the media and political class has suddenly miraculously realized that Biden doesn’t know his own name half the time. Despite him being clearly senile since before he was elected. He was making these gaffes throughout the 2020 campaign and anyone pointing it out was called a far right conspiracy theorist.

I mean if those in power want Trump to win, as they have done throughout, there’s easier ways to install him, than running this circus.
