I’ll go first..

Potty shot. 🤢
Makes me squirm. Nobody needs to be sharing their scan photos for strangers on the internet to (probably wrongly) guess their baby’s gender. The whole thing is ridiculous

Throwing people under a bus, never seen that done IRL.

”I’m baffled”
”I’m confused”
No, you’re not baffled or confused your being passive aggressive in your question.

Tinkly laugh and head tilt (who actually does that?)

The pearl clutchers maybe?

”Gives me the ick”

Oh my god the CRINGE whenever a presumably adult person writes this!

🤢

How would you say it then?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/07/2024 17:06

Quoting a long post just to say :

This

Or

Exactly This

Yeah thanks for your invaluable insight

Guilty 😂

I don't think that's just a mumsnet saying.

Oh yes! LO makes me cringe every time.

PFB too.

I thought the Army was bad for acronyms but MN takes it to a whole new world.

TheHuntSyndicate · 11/07/2024 22:32

This too shall pass. The poster can't actually think of anything constructive to say or offer any practical advice so they make this stupid comment and sit back feeling smug. 🙄

Norks. Hideous.

Naice. Embarrassing.

Mansplaining and manspreading - used by man haters.

Boils my piss. Simply dreadful.

EWWW NORKS!

Like (eg) on Style on Beauty...

Any ideas for a willowy dress for a summer wedding for a woman who is 'large of nork.'

JUST STOP IT! 😖

because they’re not. Not all of them

ALPHAFEMALESINCEBIRTH · 11/07/2024 22:45

this D nonsense in front of describing relations

no one talks like that in real life

Humtum · 11/07/2024 22:48

HollyKnight · 11/07/2024 18:41

"First post nails/nailed it"
"You sound unhinged/vile/batshit"
"He sounds autistic" (about every asshole)
"(S)he could be ND" (about every asshole)
"You knew he had children when you married him"
"Put on your big girl pants"
Calling anyone who doesn't agree with them an "MRA"
"Cancel the cheque"
"What do you mean you 'brought a house'? Where did you bring it?" And any other fake confusion. wHaT dOeS iT MeAn?/

I have never experienced so much 'othersplaining', gaslighting, false requests to demystify as much as I have on this forum. - If you post a counter point with evidence (i.e. a policy) a reply that follows is "Nope, still don't get it".

When someone says "time for this again" - 'this' refers to a meme rather than anything substantial or credible

Any post that is essentially pettifog

Any poster that decides that you are a TRA for opposing views (or a man, or a bot (I've been called all three in one thread))

Any posts that are started for the purpose of being divisive rather than constructive - usually it's just an announcement of something in the news (like Jess Philips). The OP isn't interested in the views, they just want to chase and flame a narrative. (@Mumsnet It would be great if we could see icons next to peoples names (number of posts started and contributed / engaged / thanked for etc) otherwise, I sometimes feel these kinds of posts are started and stoked by the same people.

Not only relatives, but also pets. DCAT, DDOG, DHAMSTER, 😆

ScruffMuffin · 11/07/2024 22:52

One woman was offloading her very valid concerns about an unplanned pregnancy earlier, and instead of empathising or offering some advice or help, one poster pretended not to understand how a pregnancy can be unplanned. As well as being utterly unhelpful, the comment was disingenuous and rude.

Nelliemellie · 11/07/2024 22:53

LTB, like it’s that easy.

SeeTheWorldAnotherWay · 11/07/2024 22:54

All the Dwhatevers, and other abbreviations. Do people call them Dwhatever in real life?!

Matronic6 · 11/07/2024 23:03

The very patronising 'use your words'

The term 'drama llama'

When someone expresses what is entirely their opinion and they describe it as 'facts'

Similarly 'end of'

And people who delight in posters having their 'arse handed to them'

WeightofExpectation · 11/07/2024 23:10

Reducing any debate about Kier Starmer or Labour policy to “Keir Starmer doesn’t know what a woman is”. So bloody boring.
