That I find this unsettling?

Even DH raised an eyebrow but prepared to be told to lighten up.

We're away for a few days camping next week and so today I checked out the campsite map to see where everything was located in relation to our pitch.

I know it's almost certainly tongue in cheek but past experiences do leave me feeling wary when using loo/shower facilities.

Yeah, I do need to lighten up!

I agree with you. It's not funny

Tagyoureit · 06/07/2024 21:20

Not on!

Rainbow978 · 06/07/2024 21:23

Very strange… i camp alot and have never seen that on Pitch Up!

Waitingfordoggo · 06/07/2024 21:24

That’s rank. Really inappropriate subject for a ‘joke’ given how often voyeurism etc goes on in mixed changing areas.

Ifthisiswheretheworldisheadingcountmeout · 06/07/2024 21:25

Do they know it's 2024?!?

BCBird · 06/07/2024 21:28

Idiotic and Inappropriate

HelloVeritas · 06/07/2024 21:39

Glad I'm not the only one, thank you!

mrwalkensir · 06/07/2024 21:42

Are they just warning you that it's mixed shower facilities?

Tagyoureit · 06/07/2024 21:43

mrwalkensir · 06/07/2024 21:42

Nope, that's not what it implies at all!

I'm all up for a Sid James dirty joke but this is not right at all!

AFmammaG · 06/07/2024 21:43

WTF!

Actupfishy · 06/07/2024 21:44

Nah, that's well creepy.

sexual harassment is not a joke.
Minging!

Springadorable · 06/07/2024 21:45

I wouldn't be wary about using the facilities but it's a fucking weird poster to use.

HelloVeritas · 06/07/2024 21:46

What pisses me off is that whoever sketched this, naturally portrayed the woman as the victim because in 99% of cases, that's exactly what happens.

I know it is meant to be a joke but it's put me off booking now!

OP posts:
cupcaske123 · 06/07/2024 21:48

I doubt that's policy OP. Looks like a bad joke.

UtterlyOtterly · 06/07/2024 21:50

I would cancel the booking and tell them why.

That is so inappropriate.

Springadorable · 06/07/2024 21:51

It's also a terrible map if that's what it's meant to be

Me too! That's definitely not on!

I know, it's just that I have had some uncomfortable encounters in the past (although to my knowledge, never in a campsite).

It feels in really bad taste to me.

I just took a screenshot of that section as rest of map could be a bit outing for the owners x

It's all a bit "Ooh matron" 1970s "humour" and definitely not appropriate 50 years later. It would definitely make me pause.

No, there are loads of toilet signs like that on the internet.

It's a common stock image.

Mydogisagentleman · 06/07/2024 21:58

I thought it was indicating a gym.
Hideous to illustrate peeping/voyeurism

Waitingfordoggo · 06/07/2024 21:58

I’m sure I’ve seen this graphic before (I’ve not seen it in person but have seen someone share it either on here or on Twitter) so I don’t think the campsite made it up themselves. I would probably keep the booking but would definitely complain to the management and suggest they change their signs asap as sexual harrassment isn’t a subject to be used as a joke like this.

CherrySocks · 06/07/2024 21:59

Not funny at all. Joking about voyeurism is on the way to normalising it.
Gives boys ideas they might not have had. Suggests the camp owners will turn a blind eye. Making a joke out of criminal behaviour. Disrespecting women.

Onekidnoclue · 06/07/2024 22:00

That’s utterly grim. It’s shows the camp site thinks voyeurism is a joke and it’s not. It’s a disgusting invasion of privacy and a crime. Vile.
