Why does his Google history show he was at an industrial estate at night

Last night I was on Dh’s phone-not snooping…initially at least. I was turning lullaby music off that he and our dc had fallen asleep to.
It showed the travel history of where he’d been/been driving etc. I just thought it was quite interesting at first, don’t think I have it on my phone or if I do, no idea how to access it! I started looking and it was all pretty boring-travel to work, certain shops, cafes etc, a friends house. One entry from last Sunday shows him going out in the evening driving for 30 minutes, it says here no location/location not shown. Then from around 10.30-11.30 pm, it shows a location and when I looked at it, it’s an industrial estate. This is really strange isn’t it?! Making me so paranoid, what would you make of it?

Being an anxious mother we bought my son a car as a degree passing present. He's two hours away outside Leeds. So I liked to track his journey.

There's one spot where Google maps glitches and he appears stationary. Panicked and phoned him the first time it happened. He'd called in for petrol and Google maps froze. It always happens there.

CocoPlum · 06/07/2024 18:03

How were you not snooping? I have an android and there are quite a few steps to take to get into my google maps history, I wouldn't just turn on the screen and hit something accidentally to see the history.

Is there something that made you want to look?

Andthereitis · 06/07/2024 18:04

Google it with +dogging.

And you'll discover if it is a dogging spot.

But seriously ask him. Don't bother guessing.

mnahmnah · 06/07/2024 17:10

Well industrial estates are known for dogging activity late at night, so that was my first thought. Sorry. Hope it’s innocent!

Are they!

I really want a kebab now

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 06/07/2024 18:04

Is it actually accurate though?
My phone often puts me a few miles away.

There will only be a food van if there are people about. Is that likely on an industrial estate late at night?

Yes, given the amount of prostitutes and doggers who apparently hang out there.

Not forgetting the furries...

My timeliness isn't always correct took us 22 hours to do a 30 minute drive the other day.

OP you'll wear yourself out with all this jumping to conclusions.
Pluck up the courage to ask him you're just going to keep getting the same answers of him being with prostitutes, dogging or watching furries going at it.

If he is up to no good at least he'll know you're on to him.

I'm thinking he's gone there to pick up a prostitute. Industrial estates are often red light districts at night time.

But in all probability he's just gone out for a drive and pulled over in a quiet spot for a smoke or some peace & quiet.

BirthdayRainbow · 06/07/2024 18:07

Dinnerdinnerchickenwinner · 06/07/2024 17:17

The key thing here is where did he say he was going? I have been known to drive to places just to have an hour's peace from the kids, so could he have done that?

Except the kids were being put to bed. Peace was coming.

HarryKanesDrool · 06/07/2024 18:08

I wonder what country it is. UK industrial estates have allsorts. Could be a curry house, could be a gym, could be a meeting of the flesh.

sleepylittlebunnies · 06/07/2024 18:08

The dogging places round here are local woodlands, think there’s be too many cameras in industrial estates.

My tracking app showed me leaving a night shift at 01.00 in the morning, I never left the building, so they definitely play up.

TickleMyPickle · 06/07/2024 18:09

As a family we use Life360 and a couple of months ago I was in New York with work.
Landed and got to the hotel at 11pm and went straight to bed.
When DH looked at Life360 the next morning it showed me having gone for a 90 min walk at 2am all around Hell’s Kitchen!!!
So there is a chance that it’s a glitch.

OP people want to ruin your marriage!!

Location is not always accurate at all!

No one wants to ruin anyone's marriage. Have a word with yourself.

What posters want is to not have a woman cheated on or made a fool of.

samarrange · 06/07/2024 18:03

I wouldn't ask him. He's hardly likely to say "I lost a bet in a dockside bar and had to fellate a monkey", so will you believe what he does say? And if he's actually innocent (for example, because Google screwed up, or because he meets with a secret Warhammer club that he thinks you would think was a bit pathetic), how do you think he's going to take to you having scrolled through his entire location history? (It might be different if he had left his phone open to a page saying "11:30pm meet Dave and Julie at the dogging spot", but it sounds like you embarked on a pretty thorough search.)

In your position I would leave it be and see if anything else about his behaviour over the next few months gave me grounds for suspicion. You probably also need to find a way to resist the temptation to search his phone again, or at least, some way to do it without being caught.

Ultimately, marriage is about trust. He may have violated yours, but if he is innocent, I think you are close to violating his.

Yes this is the trouble with snooping! What do you do if you find something you don’t like 🙈😬

StandingMyGround888 · 06/07/2024 18:10

I'd be mightily pissed off if i stopped for a bit and was then tracked and speculated about. He could easily have gone out for something to eat, a smoke, a chill out with music, a long phone call. Why does everyone's mind immediately jump to prostitutes and dogging?

Myblindsaredown · 06/07/2024 18:10

Where does he say he was, I find it odd he goes out and you don’t discuss where he was or is going.

im afraid I also thought prostitute.

You often go out at night, don’t tell your partner and kid where you’re going and go and sit in an industrial estate?

Asparename · 06/07/2024 18:12

I find it’s not always accurate. It often puts my family random streets away, on the edge of fields, in random housing estates.

Lavender14 · 06/07/2024 18:15

I wouldn't immediately jump to something nefarious. It could be he's wanted some headspace so he's gone and got a McDonald's and just parked there to eat somewhere quiet. I used to do that sometimes when I didn't want to go home (lived alone) but no one was free to hang out. I'd just hang out in the car and watch Netflix and eat McDonald's and go home after. I think you need to ask him and see what he says. Is it on the way somewhere and he could have pulled in to take a phone call or something. Do we know how reliable the app is? If you're suspicious then I'd do some digging and trust your gut but I wouldn't automatically assume the worst.

Pieceofpurplesky · 06/07/2024 18:15

If there is a cafe nearby he could have been there - when I used to drop DS at school it always showed I was in the local pub (at 845 in the morning).

Ask him.
