Why does his Google history show he was at an industrial estate at night

Last night I was on Dh’s phone-not snooping…initially at least. I was turning lullaby music off that he and our dc had fallen asleep to.
It showed the travel history of where he’d been/been driving etc. I just thought it was quite interesting at first, don’t think I have it on my phone or if I do, no idea how to access it! I started looking and it was all pretty boring-travel to work, certain shops, cafes etc, a friends house. One entry from last Sunday shows him going out in the evening driving for 30 minutes, it says here no location/location not shown. Then from around 10.30-11.30 pm, it shows a location and when I looked at it, it’s an industrial estate. This is really strange isn’t it?! Making me so paranoid, what would you make of it?

There are sometimes craft breweries or pop-up bars on industrial estates, could it be that? You'll have to drive there really to see what there is.

Theyre not in the UK so all this advice is pointless.

People that dress as animals to have sex

People do that ??!!! 😂
That’s so weird.
I’d have to be a crocodile or a shark I think 🤔 or a T rex but are extinct animals allowed ?!

So is ‘dogging’ dressing as dogs and doing it doggy style?

Berga · 06/07/2024 17:49

This month my Google summary states that I went to the local cinema twice for five hours each time, I did not. It also says I went on a two mile cycle ride along the sea front, but I don't own a bike and can't ride one. Just my tuppence worth that it does seem to randomly make things up sometimes.

BaronessBomburst · 06/07/2024 17:49

All these people saying prostitutes or dogging, really! Yes, it could be true but it's far more likely that his location was out and his phone teleported him there.
DS was in Windsor for 20 mins last week; we're 500 km away.
If it doesn't make sense it's because it didn't happen. It's a glitch and they're fairly frequently.

Percivaleverett · 06/07/2024 17:49

I would say industrial estates or areas with lots of new builds are often where location software is least accurate. For example around Canary Wharf my maps goes completely bonkers because it’s all so new. So I agree I wouldn’t put too much store in this.

Craft breweries exist in most countries, they are not just a UK thing.

Nachosanddips · 06/07/2024 17:49

It’s not that I don’t trust him, but i’m
a pretty paranoid person about these things and it just seems quite odd, hoping it’s a mistake as only one visit there

Can you get hold of his phone again and check his search history on that day ?

gardenmusic · 06/07/2024 17:51

Garage near by? Crafty ciggie, or bar of wholenut?

Planesmistakenforstars · 06/07/2024 17:53

There will only be a food van if there are people about. Is that likely on an industrial estate late at night?

Yes, given the amount of prostitutes and doggers who apparently hang out there.

needsomewarmsunshine · 06/07/2024 17:54

Some people love stirring it on here and wouldn't find it so funny if they were you OP. They really need to jog off and check their own relationships.
Try and talk to him if you can about it in a round about way and watch his reaction.

manipulatrice · 06/07/2024 17:54

Why does it have to be a prostitute?

Granted my mind has gone to him doing something he shouldn't be, but could be a non paying sex act.

I dunno OP. Seems weird. Also weird (to me) that he goes to a friends house frequently for a drink and chat with other people who have small kids. Wouldn't you put your kid to bed and spend the evening together?

Its thirsty work.

AGoingConcern · 06/07/2024 17:55

You were intentionally snooping. You don’t accidentally go through google maps history while hitting pause on music that’s playing, so trying to present it as anything else makes me question your integrity.

In all likelihood he just went for some peace. Maybe blasting music, or having a smoke, or just sitting in silence with no one around. But your behavior makes it clear there’s an underlying issue, so address that instead of snooping.

wizzywig · 06/07/2024 17:57

Can you drive? Take him in the car and drive there together . And do this around the same time that he was going there. Then ask him what he does there?

You said yourself its a one off, i would assume maps was wrong and give him the benefit of the doubt.

Toomuch44 · 06/07/2024 17:58

Try and find out if there's a food van/takeaway nearby. Could be he's just going out for some 'me' time - doesn't mean he doesn't want to be with you, just wants to treat himself and switch off.

If not, next time he goes out in the evening without an explanation, ask him if he's going somewhere nice, or meeting 'Dave' . See what reaction you get.

to me it seems odd if you live together why you dont do bedtimes together rather than one slopping off out. I had a bad sleeper at most one had a nap on the sofa while one looked after baby then swap over.
Industrial estates are industrial estates whether UK or not. Lads racing cars, meeting for a chat, drugs, prostitutes etc I have seen Brothels on Industrial estates overseas.
Google is not infallible but you need to have this chat with him not us

Illegal gambling? Illegal boxing match/fight? I watch a lot of American crime dramas lol.

Our local industrial estates have gyms; exercise and boxing types, climbing place, greasy spoon type cafes and one has a small brewery with a bar. I’d expect him to mention it when he got home though, wherever he went.

I wouldn't ask him. He's hardly likely to say "I lost a bet in a dockside bar and had to fellate a monkey", so will you believe what he does say? And if he's actually innocent (for example, because Google screwed up, or because he meets with a secret Warhammer club that he thinks you would think was a bit pathetic), how do you think he's going to take to you having scrolled through his entire location history? (It might be different if he had left his phone open to a page saying "11:30pm meet Dave and Julie at the dogging spot", but it sounds like you embarked on a pretty thorough search.)

In your position I would leave it be and see if anything else about his behaviour over the next few months gave me grounds for suspicion. You probably also need to find a way to resist the temptation to search his phone again, or at least, some way to do it without being caught.

Ultimately, marriage is about trust. He may have violated yours, but if he is innocent, I think you are close to violating his.
