Why does his Google history show he was at an industrial estate at night

Last night I was on Dh’s phone-not snooping…initially at least. I was turning lullaby music off that he and our dc had fallen asleep to.
It showed the travel history of where he’d been/been driving etc. I just thought it was quite interesting at first, don’t think I have it on my phone or if I do, no idea how to access it! I started looking and it was all pretty boring-travel to work, certain shops, cafes etc, a friends house. One entry from last Sunday shows him going out in the evening driving for 30 minutes, it says here no location/location not shown. Then from around 10.30-11.30 pm, it shows a location and when I looked at it, it’s an industrial estate. This is really strange isn’t it?! Making me so paranoid, what would you make of it?

My timeline says I've been to somewhere in Netherlands I've never heard of and apparently once walked in a perfectly straight line across Brecon beacon

My boyfriend was disappearing in the evening for a while too, going out for 'walks' when he's not usually much of a walker.

He was fighting a load of 12 year olds' pokemon at a local 'gym' or whatever they are called. I wish I'd never asked.

With the best will on the world, nobody here can answer this for you. We don't know your husband and you do. And you clearly think he has form for being up to no good.

This could be anything from just aimlessly driving about or parking up for a bit of peace and a takeaway to meeting a drugs warlord or random tinder women.

My point is - nobody knows. Your only options are to sit tight for now and keep an eye on it or - and I'd do this - talk to him. Hes your husband

And if you don't want to talk to him and ask him, that's probably your answer

LittleGreenDuck · 06/07/2024 17:37

Kebab van was my first thought, I have obviously have an innocent mind!

She says shes not in UK. UK industrial estates have kebab vans and hookers but if shes in somewhere like in Dubai its not going to be the same is it.

Don’t go off the deep end just yet OP. That locations app isn’t always entirely accurate.

Absolutely this, it's all a bit OTT, maybe he just wanted a bit of time to himself? I used to do that years ago before I had my son, just head off & park up somewhere (albeit NOT an industrial estate) & stuff my face in peace & quiet
I mean it could be prostitues/drugs/dogging/furries/whatver you're having yourself but the only way to know is by asking him

LiterallyOnFire · 06/07/2024 17:38

Is it the site of one of those grubby burger or kebab vans?

He might have just been decompressing.

This , I sometimes go back through my own just out of curiosity, latest week apparently I was at 2 different hotels and a very expensive restaurant.

My phone just picks up the strongest signal.

Anybody would think I am living the high life 😃

Nachosanddips · 06/07/2024 17:13

@keylimedog Do you mean women are walking around there or taken there?

Local newspapers normally mention where the red light districts are if you want to know, just search their website.

I can’t follow him as I’m home with my dd

Is it really that weird to nip out to a friends house sometimes? I didn’t realise it was that strange, same as going for a drink at the pub in a way 🤷🏻‍♀️

While the other person is doing bedtime? Yeah I think so. We both go and see friends, sometimes together and sometimes apart; but we’d plan ahead of time. We wouldn’t randomly pop out often when the other person was doing bedtime. Although to be honest, the person not doing bedtime usually tidies/cleans/sets up for the next day.

My Google location history is really accurate, but I don’t know if I’ve ever been to the industrial estate he was on or what the signal is like.

I also don’t think you’ll convince him you accidentally came across it while turning off music, surely it took some digging around in his Google app/settings? Has something make you a bit on edge recently?

Bruciebogtrotter · 06/07/2024 17:40

Are you having regular sex OP? I think the answer to this would all the sex worker accusations much more/less likely.

Miffylou · 06/07/2024 17:41

Drug deals?

Mine gives me a notification you can click so I think you could blag it pretty easy

Cosycover · 06/07/2024 17:42

My Google maps once said I was in Turkey when I was in Scotland so there's that.

I'd just ask and see what he says. Probably went to a nearby shop etc and just parked to eat and browse on his phone.

gardenmusic · 06/07/2024 17:42

is there a mac donalds on the site? There is on our industrial site.

JoyousPinkPeer · 06/07/2024 17:42

What is furries?

HarryKanesDrool · 06/07/2024 17:44

Ive had to google furries and I still dont get it.

Mostlycarbon · 06/07/2024 17:45

There's not a kebab van there at night is there? Cheeky kebab.

Tagyoureit · 06/07/2024 17:45

I can't imagine leaving my partner with a young child to do the bed time routine only rock up to somebody's else house who have young kids whilst they're doing their bedtime routine. I find that strange!

@Nachosanddips the only way you will find out is by seeing the place at roughly the same time or by confronting your DH. However, technology is not to be taken as gospel.

I would still ask 🤷‍♀️

Genuinely wouldn't occur to me not to ask my DH if I was worried
"I know I shouldn't have looked at your phone but I did & now I'm wondering..."

Why on industrial estates? Is it like dogging?

GRex · 06/07/2024 17:46

There are sometimes craft breweries or pop-up bars on industrial estates, could it be that? You'll have to drive there really to see what there is.
