Why does his Google history show he was at an industrial estate at night

Last night I was on Dh’s phone-not snooping…initially at least. I was turning lullaby music off that he and our dc had fallen asleep to.
It showed the travel history of where he’d been/been driving etc. I just thought it was quite interesting at first, don’t think I have it on my phone or if I do, no idea how to access it! I started looking and it was all pretty boring-travel to work, certain shops, cafes etc, a friends house. One entry from last Sunday shows him going out in the evening driving for 30 minutes, it says here no location/location not shown. Then from around 10.30-11.30 pm, it shows a location and when I looked at it, it’s an industrial estate. This is really strange isn’t it?! Making me so paranoid, what would you make of it?

@StJulian2023 Can it make lots of mistakes like that? 🙏

@Nachosanddips

yes love, it can.

it tells me I've been to places I've not even heard of, that I've been at x for an hour when I was at work 35 miles away. That my boyfriend is at the pub near work when he's been at home a hour.

do NOT blow your life apart on the back of this completely unreliable piece of 'technology'

JarOfParts · 06/07/2024 20:25

I sometimes drive to random places to sit and eat food in secret. Quiet places where no one can see me. I eat things I don’t want to share with my husband and DC! Take some breaths. Then I leave.

I cannot say what your husband was up to, but maybe there is an innocent explanation? Or maybe I’m naive.

I hope it’s not as bad as you are worried about OP.

EnglishBluebell · 06/07/2024 20:27

@Whothefuckdoesthat check the bank for businesses with names like ‘Legover 4 U’?

Omg this absolutely finished me off

fuzzwuss · 06/07/2024 20:27

I don't think its odd to go to a friends house. DH does this to have a drink / eat leftovers/ watch a game with his friend occasionally (not twice a week though). His friend has 4 kids, and if his wife is taking dcs to activities or whatever, he is sometimes home with the little ones. DH goes round after 9 so they are asleep.

Feckedupbundle · 06/07/2024 20:31

We all have Google maps locations on our phones,we started when we were on holiday, but with two young adults who have just started driving,it's useful to see where they are.
I've found it to be a bit glitchy. Last week it showed my DD2 at an industrial estate 5 miles away, when I knew that she was in the field next door to our house.
I hope that this is the case with you.

User7842462 · 06/07/2024 20:31

Does he watch any Youtube channels that feature driving vlogs or video walks? That‘s a surprisingly popular genre and features people doing dashcam tours through mundane, sometimes dangerous neighbourhood streets. The silliest explanation is that he just went for the drive “for the vibe“. I‘ve done it a few times and would‘ve been mortified if someone found out the locations and wanted me to explain why.

BobbyBiscuits · 06/07/2024 20:32

It does seem suss to go there late at night. Unless its got shops that are open late? But it doesn't sound like that.
On street view etc is there any business located there where you would accept he was there for an hour at that time?
Back in the day I dated a graffiti 'artist' and he would go to odd places in the night for that, but it's pretty niche for an adult in 2024?!
If not I would be leaning towards meeting either a prostitute or a dealer. Does he have history of using either?

Op where can you see this info ? I've just logged into my own Google maps and can't find any journeys I've done using google maps but I did manage to find apparently a favourite place with a star that ive never even been to before. How accurate is this info on google? How did you manage to find it, my google is in sync but the info does not show on my laptop 🤔

Sounds like you don't have location turned on.

LenaMoon · 06/07/2024 20:36

Why would people want to track each other. Sounds like Blairs wet dream

Tarquina · 06/07/2024 20:37

It is a little known fact that industrial estates are used by prostitutes when the Industries are closed at night and over the weekends.

I'm really really sorry, but it looks like your husband has either gone there just to look at them and wonder whether he could pay one of them for sex, or he's actually paid one for sex. Either way it's pretty grim. Perhaps there is some other solution, a certainly hope so for your sake. Best of luck.

Pippetypoppity · 06/07/2024 20:07

Really upsetting for you if it is prostitute, dogging whatever but remember men can have sex with zero emotional involvement - just a biological urge. Maybe he’s frustrated with you being tired from baby or doesn’t want to pester or just doing it for selfish indulgence but - most importantly he’s not having an affair, he’s not hoping to replace or escape his current life and he probably loves you and your child as much as ever. Sorry Op. Stay strong and think of your life together and your darling child together.

Seriously? You think using women's bodies for perfunctory sex is just a thing men do, with no relevance to their relationships with - er, women? Actually, don't answer. This isn't the thread for it. But, blimey.

That isn't a little known fact. I thought everyone knew that. I'm afraid it's the first thing that sprung to mind when I read the OP.

However, it might not be that, he might have wanted to go out for a drive for a bit to clear his head and have a stealth McDonalds.

Nazzywish · 06/07/2024 20:42

Maybe he's just gone and got a really bad takeaway one he knows you'd disapprove of and sat in peace for an hour. Or just sat watching something in his car after popping to nearby shops or something. I've sat in a supermsrkrt car park after escaping the kids for 45 mins at times just decompressing when they were younger!

He would know. He's omnipotent.

KarmaKat · 06/07/2024 20:44

If I saw this on my husband’s phone, I wouldn’t give it a second thought. These things have quirks. My Deliveroo account things I live in Morocco for starters.

There must be a reason you’re this anxious.

LenaMoon · 06/07/2024 20:44

Is this man getting his conjugals at home?

Letsgodancing · 06/07/2024 20:44

There's a scene in you when the police ask the guy what he was doing in his car in a random place at night and he said he was doing man hand activity as he had a newborn at home. So that could be it, somewhere secluded for man activity or just sometimes people need to get of the house and gather their thoughts.

Giulia123 · 06/07/2024 20:47

Can you check his call log for that night to see if he called someone around the same time he was there?

JustCantBeBothered · 06/07/2024 20:47

Must admit, on first look I'd also think it dodgy. However, I know the Google thing is by no means accurate as it frequently thinks I'm in a town about 15 miles away. If you ask him, he will turn location off and deny it and you will never know. If you Fe worried I would go there and look, and have another look at his phone in a few weeks. If theres nothing to worry about I'd draw a total line under it.

My other worry is why you're so worried! And it does seem odd he goes and sits with friends and their families so often. I don't hold my DH captive, but 90% of the time we put the kids to bed and spend the evening together, whatever it is we have decided to do.

Good luck OP.

I really want a kebab now

Looks like you might need to head out to Moreton-in-Marsh for a combination of Doner and Dogging.

OP, does a combination of google Street View and google searching enlighten you on what happens in that location?
I know of it was my dh it would turn out he'd gone to purchase some new tires for the car or some random second hand garden tool we don't need or something.

Crumpleton · 06/07/2024 21:09

If its on his mobile does he have his timeline set up under Maps?
