I'm welsh and like twp.

I can tell you are Welsh - no vowels. How do you pronounce twp? (Or is that a mistype for twerp?)

Someone else has obliged with the pronunciation.

But on the vowels, Welsh isn't English. Vowels in Welsh are a, e, i, o, u, w, and y.

I love this. Can I steal pretty please?🙏

As long as you're not one...of course you can 🤣

I use balloon. He was an absolute balloon - I put that in a par with moron, although to be fair I wasn't aware of the scaling Confused

DeadlyKnightshade · 05/07/2024 19:29

DDad used to call people a gormless gowk (NE England term).

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 05/07/2024 19:39

I try not punch down or use any terms related to mental or physical disabilities. I also think it's generally not the people with these disabilities causing the world's problems, so why are they used as offensive words? I would normally go for things like arsehole, twatbadger, dickhead etc.

But thinking about it, we should perhaps be looking to name offensive terms after the things causing issues. You parking ticket because the clock on the meter was wrong, you Reese-Mogg, you deliberate oil spill, you doctor's receptionist that won't let you book an appointment without giving full details first, you stubbed toe.

Muppet is my favourite.
Here is Wales they have the lovely word "twp" for someone who isn't the brightest.

I really didn't know w was a vowel in welsh Shock but I suppose it actually makes sense if you/me think about it. Thanks for that.

@KimberleyClark thank you too.
