I would say idiot. Wouldn't say moron, imbecile or retard though. As someone else pointed out idiot is much more embedded in the english language.

If I call someone a moron, idiot or imbecile my intention is to be offensive.
I am not going to pretend that everybody has the same level of intelligence just because it makes some people sad.
