Currently searching for a new property in West Sussex as we are re-locating for DH's job and came across this gem on RightMove...

Wait until the last aerial photo...

They want to decide if it's 4 or 5 bedroomed - both are mentioned

That will be the iffy loft room then...physically a bedroom, but legally not. Hence being sold as 4 bedroom house with 5 bedrooms.

Because its absolutely hideous? I haven’t even looked at the price, I don’t need to.

I think its more grotesque than hideous!

There is no archived selling data on zoopla, so it hasn't been sold in the last 25 years.

I wouldn't want to live on a dual carriage way, apart from the decor

Bibbidybobbidyboo1 · 04/07/2024 18:10

I live in Brighton, so right next door to Worthing… no they won’t get 1mil. Be surprised if they get anything close… in Brighton, yes… that road is a nice one but it’s in the middle of lots of nice ones.

Zippedeedooda · 04/07/2024 18:07

Yes. See upthread I posted a proposed plan as well

I did try and look for it,

blackcherryconserve · 04/07/2024 18:43

£1 million in Worthing. Not a chance, even more so that the land is being sold off!!!!

TiredCatLady · 04/07/2024 21:00

Some seriously greedy fuckers out there…

LordPercyPercy · 04/07/2024 21:03

They've already knocked off 100k and STILL no takers:
Price Change History
03/05/2024 Price changed from £1,100,000 to £1,000,000
28/03/2024 Initial asking price: £1,100,000
Overall change: -9.1% (-£100,000)

Ha ha good one. Utterly deluded and extremely greedy.

FWIW I do like Worthing.

Champere · 04/07/2024 21:08

Worthing, Rustington and even Littlehampton prices are ridiculous now, but I agree they will struggle at that price.

I wonder if planning for the plot next door has been applied for

It was purchased last year for £875,000. It's for sale at £1,000,000 but the owners are retaining most of the large garden, I assume to build on.

Why would anyone pay more for a property when you're getting half the land? I can't see them getting any interest...

Very easy to make money when you've already got it isn't it? Greedy gits!

@Catnipcupcakes Built in 1999 by an Iranian businessman for his wife, it unfortunately failed to have the desired effect - she disliked it so much she refused to move in!

Aaah, its not just me then!

You can't buy good taste

usernother · 05/07/2024 20:46

It's an ok house. The price is down south hilarious.

What did you find hideous about it?

StringTheory1 · 06/07/2024 13:28

Really horrible house - it gives me very creepy unsettling vibes. Not at all homely, and some weird touches (Anne Frank loft ladder, shower in wall, carpet in bathroom, forensics tent in garden….)

Chuck-in the fact that the view from the conservatory would be of a brick wall & I’ll pass, ta! (That and the fact I’m not a millionaire 🤪)

not quite my taste, but "creepy" and "unsettling" really?
It's just a house

I’m aware it’s a house. My personal opinion is that I’d find it creepy & unsettling to live in. Most people have such feelings about some/different houses, hence the fact we don’t all go for the same house. It’s called having a strong opinion on something 🤷‍♀️ 🙄

BumpandBounce · 13/01/2025 15:04

Unsurprisingly, it's still on the market now at £900,000!

Photos look a bit better but you can still get a lot more for the money nearby.

I like the house, the building about to happen next to it makes it a no, and the price should be less than they bought it for given they’ve carved up the garden.
so…is Worthing a shithole/ quite nice, or what?!

Anniedash · 13/01/2025 15:27

So now the listing omits the fact that the best part of the house, the garden is not included? Hope no one falls for this and buys this rip off.

CluelessAboutBiology · 13/01/2025 15:31

TeenLifeMum · 04/07/2024 15:04

missing the point of the thread, but that’s already covered, the kitchen is shit for a £1m house.

Nore to self - if painting or replacing the kitchen cupboard doors, remember to paint the pelmets & cornices too.

Viviennemary · 13/01/2025 15:33

bossybloss · 04/07/2024 14:30

Ahh! I get it 🤣It’s a no from me.

Wasn't sure what the red bit was. But I know now. £1m - faints.

BIossomtoes · 13/01/2025 15:43

Chancers. Nobody in their right mind would buy that with half the garden.
