He has ED and is obviously extremely self conscious about it. He wasn't very hard, but that was fine. It was just fantastic to be so close to each other after so long.

I can be susceptible to UTIs. I didn't use the toilet before sex, and we had it in the morning so I had a full bladder, but I did wash (shower) after. No condom.

I'm now paranoid that I'm going to get a UTI. What are the chances ?

Ugh. Why did I open this thread while having my breakfast?! 🤢

KreedKafer · 04/07/2024 08:48

You’ve just had your first shag in four years and you’re stressing about a UTI you haven’t got?

It sounds like there’s a lot more going on here psychologically than your partner’s ED, if anxiety about a non-existent UTI is what’s on your mind after one sexual encounter Confused

UTI isn't even that gross you're such a delicate daisy!

Whoa there… I mean, the chap has ED - the OP has been open enough to explain this.

What happens if our partners have a physical issue with sex.. is there a statute of limitations that means if we pass X date on the calendar, we can’t “go without?”

Good on the OP for working with him and waiting until it happens

Yes this was my first thought as well!

I don't think it's that rare

It’s probably more the image of a squidgy penis and a full bladder tbh. Sorry but post a weird thread, get weird answers 😄 a sign of too much MN really - OP for running to MN after first sex in 4 years; and me for reading and posting!

Possumly · 04/07/2024 09:01

Congrats I guess😄

I don't think anybody can guess how likely it is you'll have a UTI. I used to get them often afterwards but that was a few years ago. My body seems to be able to deal with it now, but I do make sure I go for a wee straight after.

Ha ha.
Summed up very well. 😬

Strange post, and weirdly descriptive.

Ohnobackagain · 04/07/2024 09:37

@cupsofteaandcoffee main thing is to pee after.

Firsttimemum2023 · 04/07/2024 09:39

The main thing is to pee after. I’m prone to UTIs and I take D mannose and female specific probiotics daily, and these really help. Might be worth getting your hands on some?

I agree!

Have you looked into getting some therapy with your issues?
As it does sound like he has physical issues but you definitely have some psychological issues going on too.

Twotimesrhymes · 04/07/2024 10:09

Honestly it’s a bit stressy and not very fun sounding !!!

avarteay · 04/07/2024 10:15

Unsure why people are being mean. The word sez is literally in the title, people shouldn't have clicked it if they were going to be a twat about it.

Really pleased for you, OP.

Try not to stress too much, chances are you'll be fine.

You could get some cranberry juice, cranberry tablets or some cystitis sachets from the supermarket/pharmacy for prevention.

Freetofeelgood · 04/07/2024 10:17

As someone who used to suffer horrendously with cystitis, and still would if I didn't drink 5 pints if water a day (1 "dry" morning and I'm in pain), I totally understand your obsession OP. Just drink a few pints of water straight off and hopefully you'll be OK. Hope things continue to improve for you both.

You should pee AFTER sex to avoid UTIs.
