I posted earlier. I can't remember if it was on this name but I don't post often. I'm working class and despise Reform. Thought I was going hold my nose and vote Labour then I seen what Counsellor Clare from Chester put up . Those awful Labour men and women. How can they say this isn't about poor women and children? This subjectpenetrates every issue. For example; we have Shelter highlighting that we have massive issue with private renters at risk of homelessness or becoming homeless. Labour is not really doing the council house building we need. So what happens?Do we shove women and children in with self iding trans women or do what has happened in Scotland and just away with single sex spaces? So amazing up there- men in with women in homeless hotels. Drug death rate is heartbreaking. That is just one example and if you add vulnerable children , many with disabilities into the mix , it is not a fringe issue. I am so glad I seen Clare's video. I have met those MEN and Women before, yeh they have the election in the bag. It's only poor skanks like me that will be affected .They should have made better choices you can them say. Yeah well I will now.
On and it's my birthday today and I got a copy of Women Won't Wheesh and I bloody well won't !

Happy birthday! We really won't wheesht, either.

I'm a woman, I don't iron.

No mammal irons their husband’s shirts either. Like I said, “woman” is a social construct.

That might be the stupidest thing I've ever read on here 🤯

MuchasSmoochas · 22/06/2024 22:55

@SergeantDawkins do you think ironing makes you “female” ?

SergeantDawkins · 22/06/2024 22:55

SnakesAndArrows · 22/06/2024 22:46

That’s quite the allegation.

I’ve asked before, but I think you didn’t answer. Do disabled women receiving personal care have the right to be cared for by a female-born woman? Are they horrible bullies if they do not want to be cared for (and by this I mean changing incontinence and/or sanitary wear) by a person with a penis? Do the rights of the transwoman carer trump the rights of the woman?

I haven’t answered because I have no expertise in the area of elderly care. And I think each issue should be dealt with with care, consideration and understanding not just banging on about it on mumsnet.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 22/06/2024 22:12

Why aren't Labour the party of women's rights?

They are. What other party is pledging to halve violence against women and girls? What other party has a plan to deal with the rape backlog?

Honestly. You don't want to vote for them, fine, your choice. But don't just make shit up.

Who is "the party of women's rights"? Reform? The Tories? Don't make me laugh. Packed to the rafters with actual men who hate women. Take money off misogynists. Praise misogynists.

It's pretty laughable at this point to be pointing to Labour as the problem 😂

So my dh and ds are women because they iron their own shirts?

TheKeatingFive · 22/06/2024 22:55

And what are we to conclude from this - woman means a person who irons? 🫠

House!!!!!!!

No, not yet unless I've missed the predatory lesbians.

We've had the debunked suicide claim though so we're close.

I'm a woman, I don't iron.

My husband does most of our ironing (limited to school uniform really). He was also a SAHP. Is he a <gasps> woman?!

SergeantDawkins · 22/06/2024 22:56

We must let JK Rowling know that she had it wrong all this time!

Woman is a social construct.
Female is biological.

Absolutely not. Women are adult female humans. That is all.

TheKeatingFive · 22/06/2024 22:57

RufustheFactualReindeer · 22/06/2024 22:56

You couldn’t make this up. I iron therefore I am a woman.

What?

Is all this posting just coming from regressive stereotypes

hihelenhi · 22/06/2024 22:58

SergeantDawkins · 22/06/2024 22:47

Many people are talking about this in a way that seems to disregard their rights, feelings and existence.

No we're not. We're saying they're male. Which they are. In every cell of their bodies. And, as I keep saying, the EVIDENCE is there that they have exactly the same criminal patterns as other men. Not women. That's extremely important when it comes to the reasons why we had to have single sex spaces in some circumstances.

I'm not sure why you keep trying to equate recognising this with the homophobia of old. (Well, I do. It's a forced teaming strategy as per Denton's document) Were you around at that time? I was. You are aware, yes, that there is no evidence that gay men were any more likely to be sex offenders than straight men? Especially against women. But that there IS quite a bit of evidence that (majority heterosexual) of men who identify as "trans women" ARE as much of a threat to women as men who don't identify as women. And claiming saying so is "bigotry" is slur, being used to good effect by extremely manipulative people, in order to shut down anyone pointing out the unpalatable truth.

Strange how you don't seem to care about disregarding women's rights, feelings and existence. Not to mention our safety and the entire history of us gaining our rights. It isn't a human right to identify as something you're not and then force everyone who is actually in the group you claim you are to agree that you're the same as them and they can't have anything to themselves. Particularly when the whole reason we had to have single sex spaces was because of the violent or sexually abusive behaviour of some men. From the evidence, the "trans women" who are most insistent that they should be given access to the spaces where we are vulnerable don't diverge from that. Their crime patterns do not match women's but men's. You really need to get that into your head.

Some people are so bloody literal. No wonder we can’t use any nuance to deal with this.
