About 100!

K0OLA1D · 22/06/2024 12:07

Hundreds. I have so many physical and electronic books I have om my tbr.

I don't have enough life left! Yet I still find myself re-reading favourites

Peridot1 · 22/06/2024 12:08

Not sure about actual books but about 190 on my Kindle. Ridiculous!

Daleksatemyshed · 22/06/2024 12:09

At least 40, it's a lovely day so I ought to be in the garden reading one

Usernamewassavedsuccessfully · 22/06/2024 12:10

I have no idea. Lots. It's not the reading that counts but the owning.

Bluevelvetsofa · 22/06/2024 12:16

Not many, because I only get free ones and those that interest me are few and far between. I just reread old ones. Only read on a Kindle.

BrigadierEtienneGerard · 22/06/2024 12:18

1,000 or so.

This!

Mothership4two · 22/06/2024 12:19

Hundreds. I have a full Kindle so many are stored on the 'cloud' and groaning bookshelves (2) and a pile next to my bed and I have several library books (& have just read one)! Have too many to read in my lifetime but it's a nice challenge to try to achieve.

Readingallthetime · 22/06/2024 12:21

362 physical, and about 200 ebooks. I blame bookstagram, it makes me buy so many books. Also the 99p kindle deals.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 22/06/2024 12:21

I also am not sure I have enough life left. Life's too short for Shantaram, that's for sure, so it'll be gracing my coffee table furva few years yet.

Sgtmajormummy · 22/06/2024 12:22

So many on Kindle that I’ve forgotten about a lot of them.
Physical books about 10. Another in my basket that I’m about to read in tandem one chapter at a time with DD on our next holiday together.
I’m really flaky about reading nowadays…

Panda89 · 22/06/2024 12:22

Hundreds, I have a massive bookshelf built in around our bed and collect books like trophies 😂 DH doesn’t get it at all and is constantly asking me ‘but why do you need more??’

Hibernatalie · 22/06/2024 12:23

Not far off triple figures. Doesn't stop me buying more. I've always got a book on the go and read maybe 40ish a year so I justify it to myself but equally having so many does give me choice paralysis sometimes.

NotSoSimpleHere · 22/06/2024 12:23

About forty physical books and 35 on my audible.

Isis1981uk · 22/06/2024 12:24

About 500! I can't stop buying them from charity shops, but I do read 100+ a year, and take them back to a charity shop, so they do get read!

Echobelly · 22/06/2024 12:27

I think two at the moment. I read continuously but I don't think I've ever had more than 3 books waiting. which might happen if I go to borrow a pile from my parents. I read mostly on Kindle, but about 40% physical books and I've never not got around to reading anything that I mean to.

NotSoSimpleHere · 22/06/2024 12:28

How on earth do you manage to read 100+ a year? I get through about one audiobook a week but physical, I do well with one every two-three weeks.

KimberleyClark · 22/06/2024 12:28

Same here! One of the great pleasures of life to me is browsing charity shop/second hand bookshops. I do end up with a few duplicates that way though.

Yep, it's a 'hobby' in itself! I actually bought an Adele Parks book today, got it home, then realised it sounded very familiar!

SilverSimca · 22/06/2024 12:33

It’s hard to tell because DH owns lots of books that I might read at some point, our books are all together.
I used to read books as soon as I bought them, so until the age of about 30 I had read every book I owned. Now that has gone. I also often don’t finish books I got out of the library before I have to return them which never happened when I was younger.
I reckon I have about 40 books that I either own or have got out of the library that I haven’t yet read or haven’t read completely. Some of those though are things like “Britain’s Top 500 Gardens” whichI must have bought from a National Trust place in a fit of enthusiasm and probably won’t ever read in its entirety….

This. Although I own hundreds and hundreds of books.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 22/06/2024 12:50

I know someone who limits his "to read" pile to 10. I admire that!

On my kindle to read:
Shogun
Desperation (Stephen King)
Run rabbit John Updike
New Robert Hunter (Chris Carter)
The Alchemists Daughter
The Dark Half
Three Body Problem
Three Bernard Cornwells
Later
Only Human
Devil Land
Nightshift
The Institute
The Andromeda Evolution
Cobweb Bride
In cold blood
East of Eden
Pirate Latitudes
The waves

So too many. I need to stop buying books!
That doesn't include books I've started but not finished

incessantpunditry · 22/06/2024 12:56

Waiting to be read at the moment, there are two. One is a novel that somebody lent me, and the other is a textbook about collecting USA stamps.

Waiting to be written, there is one in my head. Still at the note-scribbling and plotting stage though!

Pashazade · 22/06/2024 12:56

Roughly 100 physical, no idea how many on the Kindle!
