If you consider yourself to be left wing

Do you believe there should be limits on migration (as a net figure) and benefits (as total % of GDP/cap per household), or do you think there should be no limits at all?

I’m a centrist, but whenever these topics are discussed I notice people claiming to be left wing become a bit uncomfortable, and usually make aspersions on the person talking about it before trying to move the conversation on. It’s like they know deep down we can’t just allow them to spiral but equally they’re at loathe to actually say it out loud because of how it looks.

"The thing about economics vs race is that modern antiracism depends on people interpreting disparities racially. "

Actually no it doesn't, antiracism relies on looking for actual facts rather than BS justifications from people who believe that there are fundamental differences between races.

"On the other hand, I think you need to be more careful about making too many assumptions about criminal gangs, the low level members are often from poor backgrounds, but that isn't always the case for these kinds of crime organizations at the top."

Look at any criminal organisation and there virtually no examples of the people at the top being middle class folks who were born middle class. The people are the top are wealthy, but they come from the poverty and the socioeconomics that shaped the organised crime.

"also inter-gang relationships, and who is responsible for certain types of organized crime. "

Tends more to be about geographic locations that the ethnic groups lived in whilst in poverty, rather than ethnic traditions.

Of course migration should be controlled- every sensible government has to do this.

I do think a country & economy the size of the uk needs to be flexible and should have a system to accept migrants based on:

Skills
Marriage to a Brit/family
Asylum seekers
Refugees
Economic migrants (if required).

I am a migrant and have been through the whole process myself back in the 90's.

It's a mystery why this has become so impossibly complicated.

I've voted left all my life. These days I vote for those who know why sex is immutable & important in life & law, so who knows.
