I also feel like it's genuinely quite a dangerous mantra because it encourages a very transactional approach to personal relationships, which is not how long term fulfilling personal relationships work, at all.

"I have the receipts" meaning proof. Usually screenshots to prove that the person they're arguing with/about is lying. I just don't understand what is wrong with saying proof or screenshots? Receipts are the little bits of paper screwed up at the bottom of my handbag and they're not usually so exciting.

I'm not sure if this is an SM saying but what happened to the word "of" following because? E.g. I don't drive on motorways because of a lack of confidence has become I don't drive on motorways because lack of confidence.
