I’ve reached the point of feeling a totally irrational surge of rage whenever I see them which is every damn day…

“I was today years old when”

“POV”

“That feeling when”

Anything that is referred to as a “hack”.

Calling an outfit a “fit”

OP posts:

'So this happened'

'A cheeky coffee'

‘So this happened’ yuck.
‘only gone and done it’. Double yuck.
‘makjng memories’.
and anything with ‘rollercoaster of emotions’

HauntedCosmos · 12/06/2024 08:16

"....went over the rainbow bridge"
"....grew their angel wings"
"Living my best life"

“I just want to introduce myself and share a photo that I took”

insert shit photo

<rages>

Also ‘sad that this photo won’t get as many shares as a picture of a half naked girl’. Why would anyone want to ‘share’ (which is itself annoying) a photo of two unknown OAPs?

SecondStarOnTheRight · 12/06/2024 08:17

The 💀 emoji being used in place of 😂

I suppose its not really a saying but still annoys me, along with everything else already listed.

VoteForBunnies · 12/06/2024 08:17

I know it's not a saying. But any video with someone sitting in their car to take it. Why are you sitting in your car? What is the point? The worst kind is when they're crying in their car because someone was "mean" to them. Or their nails were done 1mm too short.

Curtainpoles · 12/06/2024 08:17

Mine is #myXisbetterthanyours.
Like "my son is better than yours", or family, mum, whatever.
I just HATE it. It's so smug and, well, just RUDE.

CantDealwithChristmas · 12/06/2024 08:18

I hate the faux wise inspirational ones. Some I've seen recently that set my bile duct quivering:

"It's OK if all you did today was breathe"

"If a person or thing is no longer serving you, cut them out of your life"

"It's not your fault. It's the trauma of living under hypercapitalism"

"The only person you owe anything to is YOU"

I have no idea what sort of benighted, empty soul you would need to take such patently wrong aphorisms seriously but I do know that they're an excellent how-to for a pointless, loveless, lonely life.

dragonmumof2 · 12/06/2024 08:18

Sending prayers!
...but you didn't really pray did you.

VictoriaEra2 · 12/06/2024 08:19

CHEESEY13 · 12/06/2024 06:33

"I'm absolutely DEVASTATED!" No you're not. But people will actually say this over something as routine as getting a parking ticket........

Thumb through any tabloid newspaper and you're bound to come across at least half a dozen items which feature someone howling about being "devastated" about ordinary, everyday minor glitches in a routine life.

Absolutely agree.

Or even gawjus 😂

Howbizarre22 · 12/06/2024 06:00

I hate POV too I don’t get it. Also on a meme where it’s says “Nobody:” at the start. Can someone please explain wtf that means

Ha I don't get this either ??

GingerPirate · 12/06/2024 08:23

Gallowayan · 12/06/2024 08:14

Mumsnet is a social media platform.

Slightly different from Facebook, Instagram etc.

Likesomemorecash · 12/06/2024 08:24

When selling a 'preloved' jumper or cardigan, talk about how much you love the item 'but I always reach for other knits'.

It's your old cardi that you bought in the sale five years ago because it was so cheap but never really liked it or wore it.

We see you.

Likesomemorecash · 12/06/2024 08:25

Does POV mean 'point if view' ie this is what I think?

notgettinganyyounger · 12/06/2024 08:26

Literally obsessed which must be spelt 'litterly' it's obligatory.

IHateWasps · 12/06/2024 08:28

Two that I detest most are “The ick” and “What’s not to like?” They both infuriate me.

notgettinganyyounger · 12/06/2024 08:28

Photos of trout pout with twats who comment 'on fire 🔥 babes'

notgettinganyyounger · 12/06/2024 08:29

...is feeling worried at a and e

What's wrong hun

Pm me babe

Halfheadhighlights · 12/06/2024 08:29

clarepetal · 12/06/2024 08:02

'Don't do this..' some random normal way to do a ponytail, then shows you how to do some elaborate one. Says original ones makes you look shit.

Fuck off. I'll do my ponytail how I want and it's rude to say it looks shit

I hate this too, and especially when they do that annoying finger wave

notgettinganyyounger · 12/06/2024 08:30

Likesomemorecash · 12/06/2024 08:25

Penis on vagina

Greengrapeofhome · 12/06/2024 08:30

I did a thing
she/he ate or even devoured
this one
Sunday is Sundaying, summer is not summering etc
any get ready with me video

CherryogDog · 12/06/2024 08:32

When an argument kicks off and someone gives their opinion, then says "I rest my case".

AnCùDubh · 12/06/2024 08:34

A new annoyance for me is "casted" as a past tense rather than "cast".

Yeh this in particular. Not everything and everyone is there to “serve” you!! Agh the self obsession & entitlement!! Also when people say “be the main character “ or “main character vibes” 🤮🤮🤮

Appalonia · 12/06/2024 08:37

"Let that sink in"

you see that a lot on Twitter, when someone has posted something they think is exceptionally profound or shocking. So annoying!

Also calling something " fire" ( i.e. great )
