Not a saying as such but I’ve noticed pages on Facebook that post a story such as ‘the best film in years’ so you click it. Go in to the comments and there’s 1000 comments asking what this amazing film is.. they obviously have someone who sits and deletes all the answers. God forbid if you reveal the film it will be deleted right away 😂😂

Has anybody else noticed that the word "probably" has disappeared and has been completely replaced by "likely"?

No, you are not alone. It's really crept in over the last few years, even in the quality newspapers. They also appear to have lost the ability to construe common verbs, such as "to drink" and "to sink." If they should use sank, they use sunk & and drank, for drunk.

A part of my job involves writing and reviewing reports and "likely" has infested the profession. I did a review of one and included a link to a dictionary, showing that likely means probable, not probably and was told curtly, "Well, it's wrong."

It's a good job I don't have access to a machine gun!
