'in my gift' really irks me

Lunde · 11/06/2024 13:04

getting stroppy

PerkingFaintly · 11/06/2024 13:05

Oooh, "Did you consider the iniquity exception?"
" I just didn't think of it in those terms."

(That's another that needs to go on the bingo card, along with "I didn't make any connection between the smoking gun and murder.")

We'll all be well and truly hammered 😄

Robinson arguing hard that the civil litigation had no overlap with the criminal matters. Unless I'm missing something this makes him look like he's arguing black is white and is looking somewhat foolish.

Henet's asking

Quirkyme · 11/06/2024 13:14

Pressed too early

Quirkyme · 11/06/2024 13:15

"Telepathic powers"

This guy never misses with his lines 🤣

DanielGault · 11/06/2024 13:19

Pompous bollix

Quirkyme · 11/06/2024 13:19

On the break, Robinson's gonna be bitching to his wife about all these "extraordinary" questions he's been asked.

He's gonna be fuming

DanielGault · 11/06/2024 13:20

Dreadful specimen.

Quirkyme · 11/06/2024 13:21

"At last we can agree on something"

Haha the passive aggression from counsels is something else

DanielGault · 11/06/2024 13:22

He's answering her q's before she's finished asking them 😡

This. She should actually say "kindly let me finish talking before you answer"

The guy's on one

Quirkyme · 11/06/2024 13:23

"I'm sorry for asking a long question, this one's shorter"

🤣🤣

nauticant · 11/06/2024 13:29

That was a zinger of closing questions from Sir Wyn Williams: how extraordinary it was to advanced arguments for Gareth Jenkins not to have been called in the civil litigation, but to have provided no evidence to support this. Robinson sort of agreed and suggested he's mystified by much of what he did in this aspect.

Sir Wyn on the ball, as always

nauticant · 11/06/2024 13:34

Resuming late after lunch, 14.30. Jason Beer said there'd be plenty of time suggesting a very highly focused cross-examination of Grabiner KC this afternoon.

I love Sir Wyn. He’s as sharp as a tack.

In case I wasn't clear, the questions were asking in coded form whether the reasons given for no Gareth Jenkins were genuine, or were in fact synthetic, ie to obscure the true reasons, that he was a discredited witness who couldn't be called because he would undermine Post Office's defence.

There's something about his accent that is particularly withering. It conveys a boredom or something. Perfect for the occasion.

nauticant · 11/06/2024 14:30

Lord Grabiner, as an example of nominative determinism, was (according to Wikipedia) charging £3000 per hour more than a decade ago.

Yes yes, Sir Wyn is wonderful!
Lovely cuddly speaking voice and accent, slow and reassuring, like a warm teddy bear.

Wielding a rapier so fast you barely catch the flash it before it's in to the hilt.

nauticant · 11/06/2024 14:33

Immediate impression is that Grabiner considers all of this a fuss that is very far beneath him.
