There's not going to be much time to cross-examine Grabiner the afternoon so I assume it's going to pretty much focus on the single issue of the decision-making behind the recusal application.

I liked Robinson's use of 'cavilling' (as in, 'I'm not ...) and Mr Beers's immediate raised eyebrows and comment. But Robinson then immediately changed it to 'not fencing with you' but that's not what 'cavilling' means. Odd.

He has very carefully chosen language alright.

I honestly find it so patronising and annoying when adults use the word cross.

It might be from my previous experiences working in schools, but it's something usually said in relation to children, or younger adults depending on the person.

Most adults not working with children, when talking generally say "angry".

Gosh someone admitting there was something for which he could be criticised! Is this a first?

Jason Beer asking Robinson to accept that he msled the High Court in the civil litigation about Gareth Jenkins. Robinson has become hyper focused in his denial. No chair swaying, no lolling about.

This exchange now was the whole point of the entire morning's questioning. This is a horrible position for Robinson and he knows it.

This Herbert Smith attendance note is fantastic. It suggests that the past 15 minutes of evidence Robinson gave to the Inquiry is not reliable.

Jason Beer ends cross-examination abruptly on the very damaging point that Robinson's own words, said to Herbert Smith, are at odds with what he's been arguing today to get himself off the hook.
