back now

I wonder if it was just a technical fault.

Lunde · 20/06/2024 14:17

Did someone from the PO "accidently" pull the plug out?

Someone from Post Office running around pulling out wires in desperation 😂

KL - there were errors (errors in the computer software programming) that were never disclosed to those being prosecuted, like Jo Hamilton. The PO contract meant that the SPMs were automatically responsible. But Jo Hamilton did NOT have criminal intent, so the prosecutions were unsafe.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 14:29

KL - there were silos in the Post Office, hence why we took it the top and were telling Paula Vennells this in 2013.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 14:32

Oh this is dynamite - there is an email from Sir Alan on this dated 2013 to St Paula

Kay Linnell is saying in 2013 what Moya Greene was texting Paula Vennells many years later

nauticant · 20/06/2024 14:32

Linnell's comment about Post Office being a government organisation with silos and layers meaning that she wasn't sure whether those at the top would learn what they were supposed to learn about what had gone on was well-spotted by her in 2012/13.

Kay is brilliant.

Really doesn't mince her words, and says what she means

(None of the that's not what I meant bollox)

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 14:36

KL - my understanding is that the MPs were instructing Second Sight, no-one else. POL were paying for it.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 14:39

KL - disappointed with SS conclusion A because SS had found evidence of errors. Felt this part of the report had been interfered with by POL. She doesn't believe that SS on their own would have drafted that.

Bam.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 14:41

[KL is setting up questions for Gareth Jenkins next week very nicely. He's at the end of the pier next week, all week]

DanielGault · 20/06/2024 14:43

Her version of Susan is v different to PVs

nauticant · 20/06/2024 14:44

Linnell interestingly is not badly disposed to Susan Crichton saying that she believed that at one point Crichton was trying to get to the bottom of things.

We've not heard much about the 'training day', or at least I can't remember anyone else talking about it.

This is very interesting.

Bam.

The other day when Henderson was giving evidence I mentioned that Inquiry counsel was pointing to things suggesting that in some minor ways he had sexed-up his evidence compared to evidence he'd given years before.

Belinda Crowe has been identified as someone inside the mediation scheme who operated as a spy for senior people in Post Office.

Belinda Crowe has been identified as someone inside the mediation scheme who operated as a spy for senior people in Post Office.

Which adds weight to the view the "Mediation Scheme" was just a cynical mechanism for POL to find out what the SPMR knew/had evidence.

Not - as described- a legitimate way to resolve complaints..

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 15:12

I agree.

KL is outlining is how Belinda Crowe was acting in bad faith.

nauticant · 20/06/2024 15:12

Linnell talking about Belinda Crowe being responsible for minutes and that critical points of discussion never made it into the minutes.

OP posts:
AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 15:13

KL - we asked repeatedly where is the money in the suspense accounts?

Chris Aujard (who replaced Belinda Crowe?) blocked all answers to this.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 15:15

KL - re retention of documents in the cases. POL made no effort to retain crucial documents.

nauticant · 20/06/2024 15:17

Maybe it wasn't so much that Linnell was well-disposed towards Crichton but that she was followed by Aujard who was demonstrably worse. Linnnell views Aujard with contempt. Seemingly thinking about him in terms similar to others' views: he was an ambitious litigation lawyer on the make and willing to do whatever was needed to get a lid on the scandal.

OP posts:
AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 15:20

The scale and malice of the cover-up that KL is describing is clearly amoral, unethical and presumably criminal
