Please say what you think. Vinted asked NDN to verify her ID, which she’s happy to do, or they won’t let her withdraw the £300 she’s made selling her stuff.

Life on disability benefits not so easy right now. Her £300 a big deal.

But she can’t do the checks - cos the only ID Vinted accepts is a passport or driver’s licence, neither of which she has as she can’t travel. All the other ID proofs - she has loads - Vinted won’t accept.

We’ve appealed to Vinted three times and they won’t budge. Mangopay, their money platform, refer us to
Vinted.

So Vinted are keeping NDN’s money. They say ‘We hope you will understand’.

YABU = I’m with Vinted.
YANBU = Shame on Vinted.

@OhmygodDont oh, okay. Right, but out of £300. Seems smart.

Money box on Radio 4 love this sort of topic- Vinted is quite topical, too.

It’s a requirement by the regulator to ensure pay outs are made to the right person and part of anti money laundry regulation.

She can’t get to a car boot sale. What part of ‘can’t travel’ etc - can hardly get into
a car.

She can hardly get in to a car, but can buy and sell clothes - how does she get to the post office? Millions of people with disabilities travel - if not on their own, then with assistance, so I’m not sure why you’re convinced this is something NDN cannot and will never do; you seem very negative.

Royal Mail do a collection service for starters. Presumably she has people who care for her (in both senses of the word) too.

Yup, a friend of mine is a career for someone with disabilities. She often accompanies her on cruises, as well as to the post office, shops, restaurants, pubs etc - she helps her lead a full and interesting life, without being constantly negative about all the things perceived as ‘can’t dos’.

I don't remember being asked for ID ever on vinted. Is it because she has accumulated 300

Doesn’t the buyer choose the shipping provider on Vited, and is Royal Mail even an option?
I’ve sold several items through them, and always had to take the parcels to an Evri or InPost collection point.
