Would you go out with hairy legs?

In shorts/skirt/dress?

I think I’ve reached a new low.
Since having my Dd I’ve had less time to
spend on myself as I previously did and I’m
less bothered. The other day it was hot, I was short of time and went out in shorts…with hairy legs. I’m a brunette so have quite dark, hairy legs, part of me thought eurgh, but then, ahh cba

Yes.

DillyDilly · 05/06/2024 15:47

I really dislike my legs being hairy, so never have, never will!

I wouldn't . People would stare and I would care. I just got my hands waxed today oddly enough! I'm dark haired too so it is very , very noticeable.

No they wouldn’t. No one would stare and no one would care. It’s unlikely anyone would even notice: people don’t pay much attention to others when they’re out and about.

I Haven’t shaved my legs this year, though they’re much sparser than they used to be. Have done my armpits recently, but only to help keep me fresh. Could not care less what others think of my body hair. My DH isn’t bothered, but if he ever did expect me to remove hair (he really wouldn't) I'd demand that he remove his, too!

spiderplantmum · 05/06/2024 15:58

Honestly, letting go of those things does you the world of good. Imagine being worried about a little bit of hair that grows there because it's meant to be there when you have a tiny person to keep alive.

MotherFeministWoman · 05/06/2024 16:04

I never shave my legs.

AliceKyteler · 05/06/2024 16:07

Why would you think that's "A new low" rather than you have other priorities that actually matter and you are comfortable with your body.
Haven't shaved my legs in 30 years.
Just back from a cycle ride wearing shorts, I don't even think about it.

UrbanFan · 05/06/2024 16:08

Well I can't go out without my legs hairy or not.

stayathomer · 05/06/2024 16:10

Personally no but that’s just because wearing a skirt makes me shave my legs which makes me feel a bit better and I find when I leave it it means I’m falling down on self care and need a bit of a boost but wouldn’t care if other people did

ManilowBarry · 05/06/2024 16:11

Never.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/06/2024 16:11

Can't exactly leave them behind. So yes, if I CBA or the shaver needs charging.

afaloren · 05/06/2024 16:14

Why is having body hair that naturally occurs a ‘low’? I wouldn’t give it a second thought. Men don’t.

TallulahBetty · 05/06/2024 16:15

No, but I wouldn't judge anyone who did.

Gettingbysomehow · 05/06/2024 16:16

Yes.
My leg hair is light blond.
I would not do it if I looked like a bear.

Saltyswee · 05/06/2024 16:18

Absolutely not! I love smooth silky legs!

GodzillaAttacks · 05/06/2024 16:19

Of course. Have done plenty of times.

trekking1 · 05/06/2024 16:19

I have. Men do it all the time and no one cares.

Alwaysalwayscold · 05/06/2024 16:34

No I wouldn't.

I've often found myself in the "have a quick shave or just wear trousers" scenario. I'd say it was a 50/50 outcome, usually depending on how rushed I am.

Springwatch123 · 05/06/2024 16:38

This!

Would you go out with hairy legs?
usernother · 05/06/2024 16:39

No I wouldn't, it's a pet hate of mine.

BouleDeSuif · 05/06/2024 16:40

Yep. I do. I wear shorts and skirts and go swimming all with hairy legs.

suntannedsnowballsinhellskitchensink · 05/06/2024 16:41

I'm dark with very pale skin and have been conditioned to be hair free

So no, I wouldn't

But I'd be thrilled to see someone who didn't give a fuck Grin

Floralnomad · 05/06/2024 16:41

I would but back in the day when I had hair it was so blonde you didn’t really notice whether I’d got it or not . I don’t grow body hair anymore so not an issue

fiorentina · 05/06/2024 16:44

Personally no, I never have hairy legs/pits etc, always do a quick shave every day or two, I don’t find it takes long but that’s my personal preference.

longdistanceclaraclara · 05/06/2024 16:46

Ideally not nut am currently having a flare of a skin condition and I can't shave but I'm also not going to go around dressed like a yeti to protect people from hairy legs i just hope it resolved before I go on holiday

Howtonamechange · 05/06/2024 16:47

Absolutely not I wouldn't.

I wonder if those that would have lighter/ blonder hair.

I personally have thick dark hair and for me I would feel way too self conscious to do so but good for you if it doesn't bother you.

Also to me, armpit hair is a definite no no even on men.
