To ask where you’re going on your cheap family summer holiday?

When I say cheap I mean around that £2k mark(no less than 4 star) half board as minimum.

we’ve already been on our big hols this year but honestly could do with another break.

butlins is coming out at £900 for hotel and dining plan. Did it before (was nice but October so half the price) in truth I’d rather go away but is it possible given my budget and criteria?

Are you asking for minimum 4* half board abroad breaks for under £2k? With flights?

TravellingSpoon · 27/05/2024 12:17

For how many people?

For around 2k, meaning we can go a bit higher. 2 adults, 2 kids.

ive seen some Bulgaria deals for 2.1 but they’re on sunny beach which I’ve not heard good things about

I think your budget would stretch to a short break, but not a week long holiday if you want 4* accomodation and half board.

We went to Lake Garda (2 adults, 2 children) for 4 nights and probably spent around the £2k mark staying in nice hotels with flights included in the price.

Beautiful place but awful resort.

MikeRafone · 27/05/2024 12:25

what time of year and which airport is closest to you?

elQuintoConyo · 27/05/2024 12:26

97euros round trip high-speed train Barcelona to Bilbao in July, 400E on hotel for a week. 2 adults one dc.
We avoid beach resorts on holidays.

Los Lentiscos Apartments
half board 23 July - pick Tuesdays - they are cheaper, for 6 days in coming in at £2,184 and short transfer times and apartment for the 4 of you - thats flying from Birmingham

MikeRafone · 27/05/2024 12:30

that with jet 2 and children ages I put as 8 and 10

MikeRafone · 27/05/2024 12:32

GF Noelia
Puerto De La Cruz, Tenerife

again from Birmingham is £1800

Birmingham has a bad press but queues moving quickly and its building work that is making people queue outside, also by leaving on 23 July or after the first weekend of the summer holidays will have passed

You’d be fine at the TUi family life or the Dreams resort but the others are pretty horrid.

You need £1kpp for a decent holiday in the school holiday dates.

MikeRafone · 27/05/2024 12:49

Paradise Park Fun Lifestyle Hotel

lunch time flights arriving and returning from Manchester, 25 minutes transfer time

£1972

23 July 6 days

I was thinking last week of august missing first day back. I’ll find the links, see what you think, they were all quite highly trop advisor rated, but we don’t drink, don’t really want that party holiday vibe with 2 small kidlets

I’ve been to both the very last week of the holidays ( into September) and were getting quieter. Both aren’t right into sunny beach so better ( I wouldn’t hang out there) the TUI is ideal for smaller kids.

BlueBellsArePretty · 27/05/2024 12:54

easyJet holidays have some good deals.
