When I say cheap I mean around that £2k mark(no less than 4 star) half board as minimum.

we’ve already been on our big hols this year but honestly could do with another break.

butlins is coming out at £900 for hotel and dining plan. Did it before (was nice but October so half the price) in truth I’d rather go away but is it possible given my budget and criteria?

its wimslow not wimple - and park in terminal 2 its literally 5 miles

booking lunch time flights can add £200 to the cost of the holiday

Fathomless · 27/05/2024 12:59

We used to go on caravan breaks years ago, but assume they have also shot up now

MikeRafone · 27/05/2024 12:59

Hotel Mediterraneo
Benidorm, Costa Blanca

try this one, its a short flight, 26 august and from Manchester BUT its 90 minutes transfer time

@Crazedndazed if you're willing to drive to Scotland you'll probably get some good deals out of Edinburgh or Glasgow because our schools go back on the 13th August.

Jet2 have a few all inclusives for 4 people in the canaries at just over £2k

Think that’s just a touch too far as it’s like a 6/7 hr drive

Not sure on cost but my friend is in Sunny Beach for the second time, really likes it

Xmasbaby11 · 27/05/2024 15:35

We have a fortnight in the south of France for a bit under 3 grand, with Eurocamp, flying to Beziers from Manchester. Last 2 weeks of August. That's 2 adullts 2 kids - obvs it's self catering so we will spend on food there. We have a nice cabin with 3 beds and air conditioning. We've done Eurocamp before in Normandy and it was a lovely family holiday, so hoping we'll all enjoy it.

hendoop · 27/05/2024 16:28

Honestly for that money I really think you will not get a 4** star - even if you find one it will be cheap for a reason

Last year for 4 I paid 3k for 5 days for a cheap get away but it was awful and not the rating it should have been, at all.

Think also about who you want to be surrounded by at the hotel and travel distance when you are there to activities- if you have to pay taxi etc you may as well pay more initially to save the cost on holiday

Bel43 · 27/05/2024 17:11

We’ve done eurocamp within that budget and had an amazing time, obviously self catering but option to eat out according to budget and all activities included

Echobelly · 27/05/2024 17:24

Eastern Slovakia - with an airbnb you can stay there pretty cheaply. Nicer hotels would cost more. The Tatra mountains are lovely, with lots to do.

wizarddry · 27/05/2024 17:24

Wales!

Emre Beach Hotel & Emre Hotel
Marmaris, Dalaman Area

4 star and all inclusive

£1600 same dates but Manchester £100 for parking and premium inn is 5 miles away at wimple for under £100 to stay over if needed - its 2 hours drive though from Birmingham airport

That's got to be per person? Cheap if its the price for all 4!

Titsywoo · 27/05/2024 18:17

Not going abroad but 7 of us to Lake District for a week (6 adults and 1 teen) is costing £1700 for the airbnb plus about £300 in petrol. No idea about food but will share the cost a bit.

No, it's really not. We splashed out spending 1.2k on a school summer hol for 4 people this year.

Describing 2k as cheap is just offensive. Check your privilege.
