Just listening to the PM on BBC news. Does he really think we are going to swallow this. Honestly he must be delusional. Forget the last 14 or so years, forget Liz and Boris. And things will get better. Mad.

Bigger the Lie strategy.

Worked for Brexit

Can’t see it working twice.

KimberleyClark · 22/05/2024 18:13

Better the devil you know strategy.

ssd · 22/05/2024 18:13

Absolutely agree @Viviennemary

Total whitewash

Conkersinautumn · 22/05/2024 18:14

..... quite a few election have demonstrated the electorate is easily taken in though

LlynTegid · 22/05/2024 18:14

People voted for the Tories led by Boris Johnson. A man who could not even tell you at the time how many children he has.

People believed the lie on the side of a bus.

I don't think the Tories will win or even be the largest party, but people do fall for lies a lot.

NerdWhoEatsMedlar · 22/05/2024 18:15

Interesting day.
9am - stockpile three days worth of food
5pm - everything is amazing

fliptopbin · 22/05/2024 18:15

If it's the music you are talking about, that wasn't the official soundtrack, it was someone taking the piss.
I don't think even Rishi would be daft enough to use Blair's campaign soundtrack from 1997 as his soundtrack to calling an election.

aplthtoa · 22/05/2024 18:16

I was too distracted singing along to it can only get better whilst watching his jacket simultaneously fill with water to hear a word he said.

Billyandharry · 22/05/2024 18:24

@aplthtoa same! Ha fuck you tories - you should be hanging your heads in shame.

EnglishBluebell · 22/05/2024 19:04

I misread the title as the Dad's Army lyrics "Who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler/Mr Sunak"

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 22/05/2024 19:10

Delusional in so many ways but @LlynTegid is right, people seem to fall for the tissue of bullshit time and again.

I did laugh at his "man of the people" bit, standing there in there in the pouring rain because he didn't want to look like an elitist knob with an aide holding a brolly over him. Too little, too late.

Labour vermin? Kind to elaborate?

Fuck the Labour vermin!

Grow up. How pathetic do you sound.

Shade17 · 22/05/2024 20:15

Fuck the Labour vermin!

You Tories have had it and you know it. And no amount of playground name calling will change that. I did vote Tory last time. Not this time though. They've had their chance. No more jam tomorrow.

Yeah, sorry - was just dragging myself down to the level of the PP 😂

Coalfacebigtits · 22/05/2024 22:04

I was waiting to hear which song he’d chosen as his own campaign anthem. Wouldn’t it be hideous if a favourite song became the Tory election campaign anthem?!

Perhaps, showing my age here, something by Madness?

Embarrassment could be an option

Fluffyowl00 · 22/05/2024 23:03

Don’t worry, Laura Kuenssberg will be out soon enough to sway things in her unbiased and fair way. Cue 6 weeks of BBC brainwashing 😩.

Viviennemary · 23/05/2024 07:14

I'm quite looking forward to the downfall of the conservatives. They've strung us along for long enough. That Liz Truss business. One idiot woman causing financial chaos for millions of people. Still makes me mad thinking about it. . And not a hint of remorse. That's enough to make me not vote conservative.

And those billions wasted on protection equipment in Covid. Contracts going to their pals.

He is going for better the devil you know strategy

one used often in politics it saved the Tories in 1992 and Labour were expected to win and made the fated mistake of celebrating too soon

it won’t happen this time but it keep some voters and deter voters from voting labour

as for lies people will believe what they want to believe especially when you have a charismatic leader that is certainly missing in this election

HRTQueen · 23/05/2024 07:49

*deter some voters from voting Labour

ALovelyCupOfNameChange · 23/05/2024 07:52

They will use two incredibly contentious controversial points which cause real hate and anger on both sides to fight this
Gaza and trans / women’s rights.

the next few months are going to be horrific in the level of hatred, and lies spewed on social media
