I'm sitting open mouthed listening to the personal details of the life of our next-door but one neighbour. Does she think no-one else might be sitting in their gardens on this gorgeous sunny day.

And yesterday, I was waiting in the car with the windows open waiting to pick up DS1, and had to endure a racist rant from the man in the garden of a nearby house.

Once on a bus I overheard all the details of an inebriated young woman's first lesbian encounter. She had had a great time, by all accounts.

I had paused outside a shop thinking about whether i wanted to buy a drink or not. That's why.

I had the pleasure of listening to our neighbour behind singing Taylor swift at the top of his voice. I put my own music on but had to go in eventually. He was very loud and not very good at singing 😂

Not liverpudlian is she? Lol our old neighbour opposite would basically shout her business and it would echo especially on the phone or when she was in the hot tub. All of us were so happy when she left. If she had a spot on her arse we would of known about it 😂

My neighbour loves a good warble in the shower. Off key and out of tune power ballads are his specialty but I don't mind; he always sounds like he's enjoying himself.

I had been sea swimming and getting changed and warm quickly on a busy beach means pulling on leggings and a top with no underwear,changing when I get home.
It was such a lovely day on Saturday I went straight into the garden to chat to DH and lost track of time.
Suddenly I rememberd and said " I've just realised I havent got any knickers on!"
Which rather startled our neighbour who was weeding his garden just by the fence.

We have a neighbour so loud and so close over the back that when he summons his Alexa, our kitchen one responds. I assume he's a bit deaf or something. Never seen him but fuck can I hear him all summer long.

so what should I (and others) do? Stay indoors? sit with the car windows shut?

Pavements are bad too- our house wall up the bedroom runs along a pavement. People chat, wheel rumbling suitcases, and generally get on with life and it’s really frustrating that we have to hear it, even in the middle of the night. They may as well be standing outside our bedroom door.

The whole indoor and outdoor voice thing doesn’t really work anymore. Your outdoor voice carries to everyone else’s indoors!

I am frequently tempted but I don't want to embarrass him. It's hard to resist when he breaks into a stirring Bohemian Rhapsody though 😁

My neighbour used to take her private calls at the front of the house so the kids couldn't here her unfortunately I had a weird vent at the front I could hear everything I used to walk out the back and chat to the kids in the garden because it was embarrassing eventually I told her daughter I was avoiding eavesdropping and she moved away she wasn't exactly gracious about it either I mean I spent about a month avoiding listening in you don't need to act like I'm in the wrong here! (from what little I overheard she would have been slaughtered on aibu)

It's one thing I don't like about summer.. hearing other people and knowing they can hear me.
I love my garden and being able to use it on warm days but I do love the silence and privacy of winter.

We have it both sides, I enjoy hearing about their lives as I’d never be in on the conversation otherwise!

We just overheard our neighbors saying that the wife fancies one of the next door neighbors. DH is now speculating whether it is him who is ' hot' or the seventy year old guy the other side or whether they are talking about our son or whether possibly someone else has moved in with the older guy ! Our speculation has dominated our whole evening dog walk !

I have the joy of listening to two dogs be encouraged to do the necessary at 11pm.
