Israel and Eurovision

I've seen all the protests that Israel shouldn't have been allowed to enter the Eurovision. I don't think politics should be part of eurovision

Has everyone forgotten that a lot of countries at this stage have invaded each other, and that a lot of countries have a bloody and violent past.

The United Kingdom invaded many countries and massacred and killed many many people in the past.

Germany have obviously started two world wars.

Spain have invaded countries and done a lot of brutality to people in the past.

Should none of these countries be allowed to enter eurovision then. If we are going to put politics into it, nearly every European country would be banned from eurovision.

Israel is far from the only country in the world that have invaded and massacred people. Its awful, but it has also been awful when other countries did it. And many of them have. So I'm not sure why there was just the call for Israel to be banned

I thought it wasn't the Palestinians but Hamas. Are you agreeing that the baying mobs were Palestinians and. not just Hamas terrorists?

I'm not sure what point is being raised here, but it's been clear for a long time that hordes of civilians repeatedly crossed the border on 7 Oct to actively participate in the attacks. You can see them doing it in various videos such as this one.

Watch: Bulldozer tears down section of Israel-Gaza border fence

Video captures a bulldozer tearing down a portion of the fence that marked the Israel-Gaza border after Hamas launched its biggest attack on Israel in decade...

Not all Palestinians though…and innocent children and babies are being brutally murdered.

Hamas are terrorists - terrorist government. Palestinians have so few freedoms and choices. They are trapped.

Similarly, do you believe the actions of the Israeli settlers should be blamed on all Israelis? They regularly encroach on land that is not theirs.

Except one of those refuses to denounce the deaths of innocent women and children... and not the one you'd think by looking at them. Looks can be incredibly deceptive, and this is a fantastic example of that 👏

I’ll ask you as no one else has come up with the goods - do you have evidence of Eden Golan harassing anyone?

As far as I know no one has accused Eden herself of harassing anyone. It’s some of the members of her team who were filming the other artists when they’d been asked not to and posting it on social media. This clip from Twitter was posted by one of the Israeli team and you can see them zooming in on the Dutch guy and laughing about it. Whilst it’s not physical harassment, it’s still disrespectful to do this when you’ve been asked not to. From reports at the time the Spanish entry put in a complaint about it happening to her, and it was brushed off. This was part in creating the bad atmosphere people who were there have been talking about.

If the Irish Satanist has condemned the massacre of innocent women and children on October 7th then that’s news to me.

The Irish Satanist? I reckon they are responsible for zero deaths. Unlike the Israeli government. What a bullshit argument. I'll take a twee 'satanist' any day over a government and army that is murdering people.

Why should Hamas be trusted after October 7th and the many efforts to get infrastructure in place to carry out attacks?

See intel on misinformation below.

Now where’s that ceasefire agreement Hamas agreed to last week, exactly the same agreement Israel also agreed to but has decided they don’t want to agree to it now.

Good point
They also take land that is not theirs and harass Palestinians.

Ive seen this before but it just shows people breaking through the fence. I don’t see any evidence of them anywhere near the October 7th attacks.

Do you have any actual relevant proof.

CuriousD · 13/05/2024 16:02

Because the UN is a waste of time.

They have votes in the General Asssembly pronouncing judgement on various countries. BUT the majority of the diplomats in the General Assembly are from countries that aren't democracies.

It's sure lunacy for Western Democracies to view the UN as the voice of international law and order when the majority of its participants are not democracies.

(At least Israel is a democracy, and the current government will be accountable to the voters at the next election. Hamas is accountable to no-one)

I've seen it floating around Facebook... hilarious, right? 🙄

Take somebody who is actively denouncing the killing of innocents, to the point where they're upset about it... and making fun of them like this...

Similarly claiming that somebody is the opposite of evil just because they're pretty and wear a white dress

Really not funny... but very symbolic of the bullying bambie thug has endured during the competition

Absolutely and I hope she gets apologies and her attackers are held to account.

If there is a chance that one hostage is alive then Israel has a duty to do everything they can to save them. Goldberg-Polin was shown in a video saying he had been captive for 200 days so every chance some of the hostages are sill alive. Despite his injuries he clearly wasn't "long dead" so if you were his mother, his father, his girlfriend would you be pressing the Israeli to have him released?

Yes of course I would, I wasn’t saying that Israel should give up on the hostages I was saying I wouldn’t believe a word a Jew hating terrorist organisation says

Kandalama · 13/05/2024 16:19

Irgun disbanded in January 1949.
Do you blame all Germans who live today for the actions of Nazis and think they should suffer because of the Nazis? If not - where is your cut off point?

And Israel did not “come out of Jewish terrorism”

Who said they did it because they felt bad? They stuck to the agreement didn't they. You were the one saying they weren't to be trusted but as far as releasing hostages went they were to be trusted weren't they.

Because they were getting something in return. I don’t believe they will do anything without something in return
