My s**d DH

realw · 09/05/2024 05:55

Had our car stolen yesterday . Started filing claim with the insurance and realised my surname is missing 1 letter. Insurance was arranged by my DH back in March, he didn't show me anything, didn't not send me acknowledgement email or anything at the time. Car was on finance. Now I am frightened that because of the missing letter, my insurance is nil and void. Absolutely worried. Tell me this will be ok, please. DH and mine surname is the same. He has just made a mistake filling form.

I sold insurance many years ago, and this would not have been a problem. We just would have amended the details (possibly charging an amendment fee of £20) and dealt with the claim. Try not to worry. Mistakes happen

LindorDoubleChoc · 09/05/2024 06:25

What are the two missing letters between s and d?

beetforever · 09/05/2024 06:42

what does s**d stand for?

beetforever · 09/05/2024 06:42

i think it’s your thread title that’s missing a letter!

What are the two missing letters between s and d?

I was wondering this, there's been a lot of star people on here recently.

BurnoutGP · 09/05/2024 06:43

When did stupid become a swear word?? Cannot get past that sorry

Amx · 09/05/2024 06:44

Your shed DH?

Xiaoxiong · 09/05/2024 06:45

I'm reading it as shithead but there aren't enough stars.

Anyway you can swear all you like on MN, OP - I manage to hold my tongue round my kids because I can always let rip on MN!

And the letter in your name should be ok too if all other details are correct, I have a complicated name and the only name typo I've ever had trouble with is on an airline ticket that had to be reissued.

Queenofwistfulthinking · 09/05/2024 06:45

I think they would only make the insurance void if you had committed insurance fraud which would affect the price (both knowingly or unknowingly) . Like for example lied about your usage or where it's kept so I think you will be ok as this doesn't affect the overall insurance cost just a simply name mistyped.

Stupid

ZipZapZoom · 09/05/2024 09:00

Firstly your unreasonable for the daft starring of the word stupid.

Secondly why did you arrange your own insurance?

Thirdly the insurance won't be invalid because of one missing letter.

beetforever · 09/05/2024 09:24

realw · 09/05/2024 08:57

Stupid

you are missing two letters

oh the irony! 😆

Tdcp · 09/05/2024 09:31

Your insurance won't be void because you can't find a letter... surely there's an email or something anyway?

ScentlessAprentice · 09/05/2024 09:33

Well stupid has six letters, not four, so your asterisks don't make sense.

Also we're all adults here. You can say stupid if you want. You can also say fuck, wank, bollocks, cunt. This coy 'couldn't possibly say a bad word' shit pisses me off.

LesmisPhantom · 09/05/2024 09:33

realw · 09/05/2024 08:57

Stupid

Why on earth did you write it as s**d?

And did you ask your husband for the documents?

Momstermunch · 09/05/2024 09:35

Sounds like he just made a mistake. Easily done. Hopefully your insurance is still valid but either way go easy on him

realw · 09/05/2024 08:57

Stupid

😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣

This reminds me of when I was 6 and one of our spellings of the day was stupid, but I wasn't allowed to say the word stupid so had to ask my mam if I was allowed to learn how to spell it 😆🤣😆

Hoppinggreen · 09/05/2024 09:40

realw · 09/05/2024 08:57

Stupid

Really?
Well Fuck me

YouAreLiveOnTelevisionPleaseDoNotSwear · 09/05/2024 11:20

You starred out the word stupid 😂😂😂

Heaven forfend!

Kesio · 09/05/2024 11:21

The insurance isn’t void because of a typo

TheShellBeach · 09/05/2024 11:22

Eh? You can write cunt on here if you want, you know.

TheShellBeach · 09/05/2024 11:23

TheShellBeach · 09/05/2024 11:22

Eh? You can write cunt on here if you want, you know.

And "stupid" is hardly a term of great opprobrium.

JuiceBoxJuggler · 09/05/2024 11:29

Back on topic...

Shouldn't be an issue. The issue is, you don't sort out or even know about your own insurance - that's a problem.

EasternEcho · 09/05/2024 12:03

No, it is not a mistake that is material, or changes the fundamental agreement. In addition regular payments have been made, through which the parties to the contract are easily identifiable. I wouldn't worry.
