Just this really. He was a 16 year old child actor when they met, and she was his director and in her 40s. It’s so sad. Maybe I’m projecting as had a bad relationship with an older man as a teen, but I feel she stole his childhood.

An abuse of power on her part, so grim it makes me cringe.

Ugh, that article made me feel uncomfortable. I'm nudging 40, can't imagine wanting to bear the child of someone fresh out of 6th form.

I would, I feel the same about Celine Dion and Sophia Loren. In fact they got a lot more public sympathy and understanding.

Celine Dion's husband knew her since she was about 12 I think. Utterly vile.

I'm 42 and the thought of looking at a teenager, legally of age, that way makes me feel queasy.

Vincent Cassell was something like 50 to his wife's 19 when they first got together 6 or 7 years ago. It's gross whether the older partner is a man or a woman.

Perhaps you might not find them creepy as a couple today. But Brigitte Macron will permanently be a creepy person for once being a 40 year old teacher who seduced her 15 year old pupil. And Sam Taylor Johnson will permanently be a creepy person for once being a 42 year old film director who slept with the 18 year old actor she cast in her film. Hopefully you'd agree with that at least.

I think the Celine Dion one is the most shocking one. He was 38, she was 12 and he was her manager. They both swore they didn’t have any sort of romantic / sexual relationship until she was 19 but it’s just so bloody wrong, he was her manager and she was just a child when they met.

Reminds me of an IG 'influencer' I followed in the past, she was 13 when she met her now H and he was 24, they met when he was helping out on a school trip she was on. It is all ok though as they did not 'officially' get together until she was 15 and he was 26. She married him at 21 and now they have two kids, I cannot fathom how her parents do not see him as a groomer, revolting predator.

He was born in June 1990 so couldn't possibly have been 19 when they met. Could have been 17, if they met before his birthday, but definitely no older than 18.

I think the trotted out line they go with is that she met him during Nowhere Boy which was 2009, and they began a relationship after filming ended (hmmm) which would have made him 19 then.

And that he pursued her.

She was also the director of Fifty Shades of Grey, A Million Little Pieces and Gypsy. She is also an OBE. I would say she is very talented and is way more accomplished professionally than him.

I can’t help feeling that was calculated- I mean time was running out on her part and she probably wanted to lock him in before he matured enough to know better (see also Cheryl Tweedy Cole Fernandez Versini and Liam from One Direction, although the age gap is way smaller for them).

So many judgy pants on here. You can't help who you fall in love with. They didn't do anything illegal and you don't have to spend time in the same room with them so.....

He was very young when they met and had not had a chance to develop mentally or emotionally. Different is someone is in their 20's when they meet as least they are not in their teens which is just weird. It is like he was groomed and same with Macron who was also very young.
