Just curious. I’ll be voting for them reluctantly but I’m not really sure what can or will be done about the state of the country. It seems we’re skint so they’ll just have to tinker around the edges.

Yep. At least they want to try too. The Tories haven't even bothered.

Look at Children's Mental Health Services. It's abysmal due to chronic Tory underfunding.

And dentistry.

CrappySack · 03/05/2024 20:06

BIossomtoes · 03/05/2024 20:05

And dentistry.

It's a disgrace. They should be ashamed of themselves, but don't have the decency to be.

So not actually knowing what a woman is is not important?

Have you seen the election results?

Starmer was a Human Rights lawyer, I mean do you genuinely get attracted to such positions when you are morally untrustworthy?
Im utterly flabbergasted by this thread, it is a real eye opener to the Tory mindset.

I feel a bit the same in the utter belief in the Labour politicians even when the policies are not there

A bit of VAT and no idea on trafficking, not much there

I think you misunderstood me.

The 'but Labour' was re whenever people point out specific things the Tories have done that are harmful, the response is always 'but Labour...' insert speculation about something they might do one day. Never anything positive about this current bunch of Tories.

I'll vote Labour because they are the Not Tory option where I live, but also because I think they will genuinely try to make things better rather than being self-serving.

Whether they can undo the shit show of the last 14 years is anyone's guess. At least they'll try though.

Where I live it is Greens who ate always elected but I am voting Labour as I am so desperate for Tories to go! DH and I are high income earners and everyone we know is voting Labour including people who work in the City so Mumsnet really does baffle me!

Pruki · 03/05/2024 20:10

I’m expecting pretty much what we have now, some wardrobe changes though, shades of red ties on the front bench though instead of different shades of blue ties.

My lovely Aunt is 90 and has voted Tory at every election since she could vote and they've even lost her. She says this lot aren't Tories, they're just money grabbers who are out for themselves.

A government that cares about the general public as opposed to their rich friends and donors. A government which will stop focusing on contracts for mates and privatising the NHS. A
government that isn’t pig ignorant re mental health or turning a blind eye to the death of NHS dentistry. A government that wants an education that works for all children and causes less anxiety. A government that cares about young people and the environment….

Thats for starters.

To stem the rot and begin to turn it around. I dont think there is the money to do much more.

To be trustworthy and accountable.

if they do take a bit more tax I don’t care really. We’re now reluctantly forking out several hundred a month is private healthcare as we’re so worried about the NHS. If they took some of that to support the NHS and my trust could come back it would be a fair swap with the added benefit than more than just my family and the insurance company benefit from my investment.

Starmer is like a wet weekend and Rayner is completely untrustable. She pulls his strings like a puppet.

I’m voting Tory just because the thought of Labour is horrendous. Although have to say was hugely impressed by Daisy Cooper, deputy leader of the Lib Dems, on BBC Breakfast this morning.

And yet Starmer and Rayner lead a party that has just inflicted an utterly catastrophic election on the government.

Then I am afraid you are going to be disappointed. Follow the money to see where their priorities will be.

I know people who voted Tory for every election since 2010 but not now for the very same money grabbing reasons.

Its just the pain of staring at the BBC tracker of council seats and seeing two parties getting more than your beloved.

Yep. They can't continuously heap shit on us all and expect us to thank them and ask for more.

She sure is!

She's hoping they'll get taken down a peg or two and it'll give them the kick they need to be worthy of voting for again.

When you have lost some of the City vote you have truly lost it, it’s game over!

Bibnle636 · 03/05/2024 20:17

Because how can you trust a party to fix the NHS when it's biggest donors are private healthcare companies?
